Letter to the editor: A mass exodus

Posted

To the editor,

Why are millions of young people fleeing the Democrat party and sprinting to the Republican party? Explaining this mass movement is both understandable as well as multifaceted.
One of the more easily identifiable reasons is that they are just tired of being lied to. For three straight years they heard about the nonexistent Russia collusion farce. For over 20 years they have been warned about global warming. The scam Al Gore promised would put much of Florida under water by 2010. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez told them the world would end by 2031 if global warming wasn’t stopped! Then they were told that Joe Biden was sharp as a tack even though everyone could see that he was morbidly senile.
More younger people also grew tired of defending the liberal hate machine being orchestrated by the far left.  Listening to the vile hate speech coming from Ilhan Omar, Jasmine Crockett, Eric Swallwell, Rashida Tlaib and Zohran Mamdani turns off most young people who expect better from their elected officials.
Conversely, there is the Charlie Kirk effect. He exuded intelligence, compassion, courage and an obvious love of God and country. Perhaps the only person who can match Kirk’s star power with young voters is his wife.
The biggest reason for this exodus is probably the Trump effect. When a President wins 86% of the counties in the country it shows that his support is a mile wide and a mile deep. When the Democrat candidate can only win 14% of the counties it shows that their support is a mile deep and an inch wide! This translates into young people wanting to follow the party of common sense not the party that is on the 20% side of every issue and sometimes on the 5% side of some issues! This exodus will continue until the Democrat party comes to the realization that the notion of going woke makes a business go broke also applies to political parties.
