To the editor,

On behalf of the River Falls Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women), we would like to thank River Falls and the surrounding communities for support of the Annual Book Sale in September. It was a very successful endeavor resulting in scholarship funds for students at UWRF, CVTC and River Falls High School. Only through the communities’ contribution of books and their subsequent patronage of the event and purchase of books could this have happened.  

Organization members spent hours collecting, carrying, distributing, carrying, culling and packing books. They were assisted by their friends, other community organizations, and family. Special thanks goes to County Market-Hudson, Dick’s Family Market-River Falls and Family Fresh-River Falls for providing space for book donations. Wayne Peterson of Platinum Pizza Corporation allowed us to use a wonderful facility situated on Main Street which made it accessible to so many. At the end of the sale, we were happy share leftover books with many groups in the community for their use.  

We are grateful to be in a community which supports such worthwhile projects.
