To the editor,
Tuesday, Nov. 3 we have the opportunity to vote in a new representative to the Wisconsin State Assembly for Assembly District 30. Shannon Zimmerman has held this position since 2017. Mr. Zimmerman missed 225 votes last session, including action to address a healthcare crisis in his district. One absence was due to a trip to the Bahamas. He has also missed a quarter of his meetings. This does not sound like someone invested in the people in the district he was elected to represent.
The individual running against Zimmerman is Kevin Knoke, who is a retired fifth grade teacher from Hudson, a veteran who was deployed overseas. This is his first run for political office.
Hopefully voters will consider their options, instead of automatically voting for the incumbent.
