Letter to the editor: County needs to make intersection safer

Posted

To the editor,

Reading the Journal of Jan. 3, ’24 in the Pierce County accident report. There were two more accidents at the intersection of Highway 10 and County Road S. As there have been more in the past at this site. Some have been serious enough to go to the hospital. This intersection has its blind spots. Also at times children cross the highway to go to the store to get treats.

There needs to be better speed signs put up or major flashing lights like at the intersection of 128 and Highway 29 near Spring Valley. This area is also in a possible school zone.

Something needs to be done before a major mishap happens. Does the Pierce County Highway Department and County Board need a petition to help make a safety decision from the concerned citizens? The Village of Plum City and the township need to help out.
