To the editor,

It would be nice if everybody would tone down the rhetoric: not going to happen. I am curious though why Aurora, Colo., wasn’t addressed. I heard Trump mention it. I think it would have been nice if somebody would have denounced the way our Supreme Court justices have been treated. Chuck Schumer said two Supreme Court justices “won’t know what hit them.” Keith Ellingson from Minnesota compared Justice Thomas to a “house slave” in the movie “Djongo Unchained.” Perhaps this is racist?

I doubt Trump has read the Bible or lives by the Bible. It was a very unimpressive photo opp. That being said, I would like to introduce Rev. Jen Butler, who was recently hired by the Harris-Walz campaign.

Rev. Jen Butler has written a book exploring what she calls the “Christian right nationalist movement.” She states the “Christian right” in the U.S. is a full-blown global movement behind autocratic leaders (bet you can guess who) to advance a white supremacist, patriarchal, and homophobic agenda. Is this a new religion and how do you know if you are a part of it?

It is madness; why would they hire somebody like this?

I have a hard time understanding why people have no problem with a party who keep the POTUS in “the basement or guarded by the Easter Bunny for four years.” We have been lied to. Then they force him out, because that is what they did, and put one of the least liked VPs in history to run in his place. Hollywood would say she became a star overnight. Just ask Oprah and the other celebrities.

For 3.5 years they avoided the border crisis. Now they blame Trump and Republicans. Why didn’t Biden sign an executive action sooner? I forgot the border was secure and Kamala Harris hasn’t been to Europe either. DHS has released a report stating there are over 300,000 children who are unaccounted for.

How can you vote for the party who has wanted to “defund the police?” Gov. Walz could have called National Guard. He elected to let Minneapolis burn. How can he protect a country when he couldn’t a city?

The last and perhaps the most disturbing. How can anybody vote for a man who has passed a bill into law that gives courts the power to make initial custody determination for “CHILDREN who want gender-affirming care?” This law gives courts the power to remove children from parents. I guess they don’t want government telling a woman what to do with her body, but have no issue with the government to tell parents what to do with their child’s body.

The world is a crazy place. Both parties should wonder about this election.
