I like (always have) riding motorcycles. Why? Well, if I have to explain it, I could ruin the fun. Like eating a well-done hamburger with all the fixings, you look forward to the next time you can visit your favorite burger place! So it is with riding a cycle: same road sometimes but it is still being in motion and noticing something you did not see before. A cute dog, a little person attempting to ride a bicycle, a mom hanging out the fresh washed clothes, a man working on his car, fresh manure from a local farm and a bee that glanced off your helmet. Always different and yet you are in motion and captivating all scenery.
Speed? Sometimes 30 or 40 maybe even 50 mph on a country road (you do not wolf down a hamburger right?) Like Cat Stevens use to sing "miles from nowhere, guess I'll take my time; oh yeah to be there, though my body has been a good friend, I won’t need it when I reach the end." At 72 I can relate, harder to swing a leg over the bike's saddle but that motion still keeps you upright and that sunshine and no traffic beckons like the call of the wild!
Happy riding to all you who have tasted the freedom of motorcycling and as they say "keep the rubber side down and watch and pray the beloved bambi's (deer) do not side track you!”
