To the editor,
Derrick Van Orden's staff remains in the dark as to most of his stances on current events. I called his office and asked pointedly whether or not Van Orden would commit to impeaching a president based on unconstitutional acts such as revoking US citizenship (no constitutional basis for this) or sending US citizens to be tortured in foreign prisons.
His staff was unfortunately unable to answer where he stands on this issue or whether or not Van Orden would protect the constitution.
It is an extremely frustrating position for his concerned constituents to be in when they do not even know where their congressman draws the line in regard to constitutional rights that are afforded to us by God and by nature and supposed to be protected by our government.
This was a man who once committed to term limits and yet has made no progress.
While he was once critical of government overreach, he now seemingly supports wholeheartedly unconstitutional measures to oppress American citizens.
He once promised to hear his constituents voices but now hides behind a computer screen taking only filtered questions with well-scripted answers.
As a constituent of Wisconsin's Third Congressional District is it too much to ask for a little representation in my government? Under this regime it seems so.
