To the editor,
A note to share my gratitude. October kicked off by attending the grand opening of the Pierce County Dog Park. The park was a project we happened on earlier this summer during a walk at the Trimbelle Recreational Area. We ended up sharing our time for a day or two helping out, meeting nice people and adorable dogs. At the Friends of the Library meeting later that day, I was reminded and impressed on how many activities our Ellsworth Library has on the calendar each month. For example, at the end of September I was able to help greet attendees at the Meet the Author event hosted by the library. The 24 authors who attended the event and shared their stories were talented and impressive.
This past week, although I missed the Design Ellsworth event (I heard it was inspiring), I attended the reception to recognize the career of Captain Jerry Hines. His generous donation along with so many others in our community helped the library become the gem it is today.
After the reception, The Ellsworth Power of 100 hosted our biannual meeting. All three presentations were impressive and so heartfelt there were tears. The next morning, I attended (as the Friends of the Library representative) a Kickstarter Chamber event hosted at YB Urban? Aroma Bar. Great turnout, great food and camaraderie of business owners and the Ellsworth Chamber. They have been busy working on our behalf. The community trick or treat, a pumpkin carving contest, cider tasting, scarecrow contest and more are coming up. Check out the Chamber and the Ellsworth Library calendar of events.
The morning wrapped up with an amazing yoga session at YB Urban? and a deep feeling of gratitude for our community.
