To the editor,
Regarding a Facebook post on July 15, 2026 from Chad Koranda for Sheriff page:
The role of Sheriff is super important. We have a great Sheriff who understands the limits, needs and impact the role has. We need to maintain this sheriff position with a candidate who can be mindful of the families, staff, and constituents the way Chad Koranda For Sheriff has, while balancing the role of elected representative with law enforcement protections.
It’s not an easy role and department to balance. Much of what Sheriff Koranda has mentioned is common across all aspects of law enforcement.
As a former elected River Falls City Council member of seven years I understand the budget and staffing models and needs that go into the position. The decision making that goes into funding every department is no easy task. And often sacrifices have to be made to ensure each department gets the required funding necessary.
We have a great leader in Sheriff Chad Koranda. Many times the Sheriff is the line in the sand when it comes to protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms. I’ve had numerous conversations with Sheriff Koranda over the years regarding laws, constitutional items, and have found he is still the best man for the job.
Chad has our re-election vote in the August election.
