Letter to the editor: Legislation lies in legislature

Posted

To the editor,

I received a flyer in the mail asking me to vote a “No” on creating section 35 (1) and (2) in Article 4 of Wisconsin state constitution. Our country is an experiment in dual sovereignty and separation of powers to prevent tyranny by the majority or by one person. Thus the preamble of the US constitution: We the People of the United States... The power rests in the legislature and thus mirrored in the Wisconsin constitution.

The governor of our state has an almost abusive power to become a tyrant. So we the people tamed the Frankenstein veto power of the governor. It should have been totally abolished. No one man should have the power to change the bills’ wording for his ideological cause. Hence the governor whether Republican or Democrat should not have the sole power to spend the people’s monies nor it be delegated to any state agency run by ideologs. The forming of a more perfect union is continuing and ongoing. Vote YES on Aug. 13. The representation lies in the legislature.
