To the editor,
Why is the desire to have border security not a bipartisan issue? Why are so many people angry at those enforcing our immigration laws? The blame for such extensive immigration enforcement should be on the Biden/Harris administration’s deliberate open border policy that opened the floodgate to an estimated over 10 million illegal immigrants. It created a transformational crisis that will have lasting generational consequences.
With it being such a tremendous national security and economic issue, why during President Trump’s SOTU address in February when he asked members of congress to stand if they believed the “First duty of American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” the Democrats refused to stand up?
It’s interesting that the policies of sanctuary cities/states, resisting travel bans from nations hostile to the U.S., defunding of ICE, resistance to building a southern border wall, a quick path to citizenship, allowing noncitizens to vote, issuing driver’s licenses to noncitizens, taxpayer-subsidized college tuition to noncitizens, etc., all flow out of the Democrat party.
Now the Democrat party is becoming increasingly infected by the Democrat Socialists of America (DSA). DSA’s objective is to overthrow America’s constitutional republic in favor of a government based on socialist and communist principles. Not surprisingly, one of their goals is open borders.
Democrats now view socialism more favorably than capitalism. Which socialist or communist country would you rather live in than America? We just celebrated America’s 250th anniversary, but if we don’t start rejecting the radical ideas the Democrat party is increasingly embracing, our nation’s future will slip through our hands.
