Letter to the editor: Support our Prescott students

To the editor,

For years, the American dream has been the epitome of success. Values that make America great are the qualities we teach our children year after year. At Prescott School District, we embody an unwavering dedication to teaching generations of young people to become contributing members of society. Through grit and rigor, they too will live the American dream. Public schools provide more than just education; they cultivate a sense of community, pride, and commitment to service that will last our students a lifetime.

In Prescott, where values of hard work and determination run deep, our public schools play a vital role in shaping the future of our children. At Prescott School District, students become well-rounded adults with solid values and work ethics. Strong public schools create a skilled workforce, attract businesses to our community, and contribute to the overall prosperity of our town’s future.

Prescott Public Schools provide students with opportunities such as work programs, sports, STEM,  interventions, and more. Prescott students become the future engineers, welders, farmers, teachers, and nurses of America. The bottom line is, now more than ever, public education is essential.

As we look to the future, we need to recommit ourselves for the well-being of our public schools to secure the well-being of generations to come. This is the time to advocate for funding. This is the time to support whatever it takes to ensure our children’s success and future during their educational years - preserving the American dream.

In the spirit of unity, let us stand together as the strong community we are in support of our public schools. Prescott Public Schools are not just buildings with classrooms; they are the heart and soul of our community.

In the end, a strong public education system is not just a benefit to our children, but to all of us. Support the Prescott School District. Support our Prescott students. They are the leaders of our futures. What kind of future do you want them to create?

With small-town pride,

Prescott Middle School Sixth Grade Team
