To the editor,
My Congressman, Derrick Van Orden (R-WI-3), has been using the Communist/Marxist scare for years now, and is ramping up his rhetoric in this election cycle.
When then-former president Trump was convicted by a jury of his fellow Americans of 34 felony counts in New York, Van Orden called the presiding judge “communist scum.”
Other words he and his fellow Republicans use to describe their own constituents include “Marxist” and “agitator.” “Communist/Marxist agitators” are this year’s Willie Horton.
It’s a lot easier for Republicans to troll their opponents than to address the nation’s challenges.
