To the editor,
Derrick Van Orden went above and beyond the call of duty.
Last week my wife and I were traveling in Israel when the terror attacks occurred. We were nowhere near the actual attack at that time when I got a cell phone call from Rep. Derrick Van Orden in Washington.
He inquired where we were, if we were in immediate danger and wanted passport information for the State Dept. so they would know where we were at all times. He asked how many were on tour and wanted to be personally kept informed about our location and plans in case we needed a rescue operation.
He kept in touch with us until we safely exited Israel via bus to Amman, Jordan
That goes above and beyond the call of duty for any US Representative to take that kind of personal interest in the safety of his constituents.
We offer him our personal heartfelt thank you.
