To the editor,
Rep. Derrick Van Orden appears to have switched tactics to avoid addressing constituents’ voices from being heard. Virtual meetings, while they have the benefit of reaching more people, also have the more important benefit to Van Orden of muting dissenting opinions/concerned members of your district.
This is not limited to Wisconsin's Third District but appears to be a trend of all republicans who are want to avoid conflict as the head of their party continues issuing sweeping and unpopular Executive Orders from firing federal workers, shutting down government organizations, and increasing costs directly on consumers through higher taxes on imports.
I hope voters remember this time period when Van Orden abandoned in person meetings to avoid hearing an opposing perspective. He is betting voters will forget come the midterms.
