Letter to the editor: Van Orden looks out for billionaires

Posted

To the editor,

Last weekend millions of Wisconsinites and Americans sat on pins and needles wondering how they were going to feed their families and pay their medical bills due to the government shutdown and July’s Big Beautiful Bill. Congressman Derrick Van Orden is not one of those people.

The Congressman’s base salary is $174,000/year and his healthcare is taken care of. And depending on how long he “serves” the 3rd District (if service is what you call this) he may enjoy a nice pension to boot! So he is DEFINITELY NOT one of the millions of Wisconsinites sitting on pins and needles. Contraire, he voted for the Big Beautiful Bill that removes subsidies for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), reduces food stamp (SNAP) funding and affords billions of dollars of tax cuts to the billionaires. Thank God Derrick’s looking out for those billionaires!

Call Congressman Van Orden's DC office and “thank him for a job well done.” The number is 202-225-5506. Press option 2 to get to a staffer. If the La Crosse or Eau Claire offices are more convenient call 608-782-2558 (LC) or 715-831-9214 (EC). You billionaires can call, too. Or you can have an aide do it.

Think about what is happening here.
