To the editor,
Western Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District is represented by a man who has dedicated his life to serving our nation - Congressman Derrick Van Orden. His long and decorated career as a Navy Seal is a source of pride for Wisconsinites.
Raised in abject rural poverty, Van Orden understands the economic hardships faced by middle America. In Congress, he’s been a tireless advocate for lowering energy costs. His support for legislation, such as the Lower Energy Costs Act (H.R. 1), is crucial for working families to escape the misery of inflation.
He’s also been a leader on veterans issues, something I imagine is personal to the Congressman. Whether it’s fighting veterans suicide, increasing educational opportunities for veterans, or holding the Veterans Affairs Department (VA) accountable, Congressman Van Orden hasn’t missed a beat.
Lastly, Congressman Van Orden has given our farmers a voice in DC. Until Van Orden took office in 2023, Western Wisconsin had nobody fighting for them on the Agriculture Committee. The Dairy Pride Act, Dairy Business Innovation Act, and Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act are only a few examples of Van Orden delivering bipartisan results for America’s Dairyland.
Congressman Derrick Van Orden is selfless, dedicated, and patriotic. His commitment to the wellbeing of his constituents and our country as a whole, is inspiring. Derrick, thank you for fighting the good fight. Keep up the great work!
