Letter to the editor: Vote ‘yes’ for Prescott students

Posted

To the editor,

We students at Prescott High School have experienced many changes due to the failed referendum in April. Sadly, many of those changes have been negative. Class sizes have significantly increased. Budget cuts have led to the elimination of course electives. This, in turn, has severely limited curricular opportunities for students. Additionally, the arts, specifically theater and drama, have curtailed students’ performance options. Finally, budget cuts have restricted students’ abilities to participate in Prescott athletics.

We are all to be proud to be Prescott Cardinals. The Prescott High School believes in supporting the five R’s; Respect, Rigor, Relationships, Relevance and Responsibility. By supporting this referendum, we the students believe we will be able to follow “the five R’s” to the fullest extent. Therefore, we, the members of the Prescott Student Council, urge you to support the upcoming referendum on Nov. 5. Please vote yes for us.
