To the editor,
As a concerned local, I’ve noticed the DOB’s and addresses of the arrested individuals in the daily jail log have been removed this year. But why?
I understand the need to protect privacy and keep people safe, but these are not the people we need to be protecting. I want to know who they are, where they came from and where they live. As Pierce County residents, we should be given right to the information in order to protect our own families and be given the right to be aware of potential threats.
The minute they are arrested, their rights to anonymity are stripped and the public’s rights to knowing that vital information should be displayed.
Thank you for the consideration.
