Lois Marie Hohmann, 93, of Bay City, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community in Red Wing. She was born on Jan. 2, 1932, in Independence, Wis. to Benjamin and Leona (Reglin) Baker. She graduated from Cochrane High School in 1949. On Feb. 23, 1949, she was united in marriage to Calvin Hohmann. They lived in Bay City where she worked at the Bay City Post Office, serving as Postmaster from 1974-1999, at which time she retired. Lois also worked at Alice’s Restaurant, was a bookkeeper for Hohmann Construction and her son’s gas station. For a few years she worked at Walmart and Braschlers Bakery. Lois is a past member of the Bay City Fire Department and a member of the Bay City Legion Auxiliary.
Lois is survived by her three sons, Jesse (Diane) Hohmann of Bay City, Gene (Kris) Hohmann of Bay City and Timothy Hohmann of Ellsworth; five grandchildren, Steve Hohmann, Daphne Hohmann, Jessica Huppert, Derick Hohmann and Benjamin Hohmann; seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Barry and grandson, Terrance Hohmann,
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Bay City Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
