Norman Raymond Killian, outdoorsman extraordinaire, of Prescott, Wis, passed away on Dec. 21, 2024, surrounded by family at Benedictine Living Community-Regina. He was born June 9, 1929, in Big River Township, Wis. to Ray Killian and Clara Hrdina. He was raised on the family farm. In 1947 he married Genevieve Deiss. In the early 1950’s they moved to Prescott, WI. Norm worked at a variety of jobs including Jacques Seed Company, “over the road” truck driver, Cernohous Chevrolet and the Ford Plant. In 1967 he was hired at 3M as a mechanic and then as a supervisor. In 1972, sadly his wife, Gen passed away. In 1973, he married Joan Bruneau and later divorced. When he retired from 3M in 1992, he married Donna Struve. They were married for 27 years when Donna passed in 2020.
Norm had many hobbies. He and Donna owned a cabin up in Danbury, WI, where they spent much of their time. Often times the kids would join them. They enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the 3M Trap Skeet Club for several years. He had many trophies to show off his talents! He also loved to travel. and managed to visit most of the US. He went on an annual hunting trip with his two sons and close friends for many years which included Wyoming, Colorado, Montana and South Dakota.
Norm is survived by his five children, Jerry (Kate), Kathy Luedke, Karen Larson (Lonnie), Patti (Special friend, Scott), Chris Killian, and daughter-in-law Carol Killian, and four stepchildren, Rick Bruneau, Tom Groves (Special friend, Nancy), Dawn Lynch (Mike), and Terry Groves (Katie), along with 16 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Gen and Donna, his eldest child, Tom, his stepson, Rob Bruneau, and his son-in-law, Butch Luedke.
A mass for Norm will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 269 Dakota St. S. Prescott, WI. 54021, with a visitation at 10 a.m. and mass at 11 a.m. There will be bars, cookies, coffee, and water in the Gathering place after mass. A private burial will be held later that day. In lieu of flowers, mass intentions for Norm will be greatly appreciated,
