Pleas for UFO Days volunteers
Staff report
ELMWOOD – The newest resident in Elmwood is an alien named Ofu. The Journal learned via social media that Ofu has made Elmwood his summer home.
According to the UFO Days Committee, when he showed up in Elmwood he didn’t have a name, at least that humans could understand. Elmwood Elementary students had the task of coming up with names. Each classroom submitted one name. The winning name was Ofu (UFO backwards) from Mrs. Wilbur’s fifth grade class.
The UFO Days Committee is looking for volunteers. Ofu appeared on a volunteer callto- action flier recently with this message: “It seems there are some mixed feelings about us coming to your town celebration for 2021. Me and my fellow abductors are asking for multiple accommodations but can’t seem to find anyone who will help fulfill them. Will you be willing to help?”
UFO Days will be held July 23-25. Those interested in volunteering should contact the UFO Days Committee/Elmwood Area Community Club.
