PRESCOTT – The Prescott Area Historical Society (PAHS) is busy creating and completing new projects for display. We can use your help in looking for pictures of Miss Prescott and her court members from the years 1974 through 1982. We are also looking for any photos or videos related to the old Tourist Park (Freedom Park), the flood of 1965, anything steamboat or towboat related, and our current building on Broad Street, which was previously a bank, City Hall, Library, and Police Department. Please contact us at [email protected] or call 715531-8973 if you can help us out.
There will be a historical presentation by PAHS member Dallas Eggers called “St. Croix Valley Gold, Logging in the River Valley,” at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at the Memory Cafe, in the basement of the First National Bank of River Falls-Prescott (1151 Canton St., Prescott). All are welcome.
PAHS also is looking for new members interested in helping to preserve and promote Prescott’s history by designing displays, doing historical research, scanning photos, and working on weekends, meeting and greeting people as they visit our city. We are also interested in any, and all, items for our displays and collections that pertain to Prescott history, remember, your family is our history.
