Officers were notified of a two-vehicle crash at 1:14 p.m. May 24 at Highway 63 and County Road VV in the town of Trenton between a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Alex John Michels, 35, River Falls, and a 2011 Ford F150, driven by Janel Sue Ray, 69, Ellsworth. Michels was stopped at the intersection, preparing to continue eastbound onto 150th Avenue. Ray was heading northbound on Highway 63. Michels pulled out into traffic and Ray struck his rear passenger side. The Outlander had minor damage while the Ford was towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported. Michels was cited for fail/yield right/way from stop sign and operating while revoked (alcohol related).
Police were sent at 11:26 a.m. May 30 to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 35 one-third of a mile east of County Road EE in Bay City. A 2025 Mercedes G550, driven by Angelica Rose Oakins, 19, Bay City, was heading southbound when it went off the road to the right, through a ditch, off an embankment and into a sandbar, which caused it to bounce up into an embankment and strike a tree with its roof, where it came to rest. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. EMS transported Oakins to Mayo in Red Wing with suspected minor injuries.
Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 4:34 p.m. May 30 at Main and Cherry streets in Plum City between a 2019 Chevy Equinox, driven by Kaylee Jo Delander, 27, Elmwood, and a 2008 Ford Edge, driven by Wayne Casper Caturia, 90, Plum City. Delander was stopped near a business front door when Caturia began backing out of his parking space. He didn’t see Delander’s vehicle and backed into the middle driver’s side area. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Police responded at 5:08 p.m. May 30 to a two-vehicle crash on 580th Avenue just west of 670th Street in the town of Ellsworth between a 2016 Chevy Silverado, driven by Michael Gary Wood, 58, Bay City, and a 2017 Subaru Outback, driven by Darcy Lynn Drew-Elliott, 59, Maiden Rock. Wood was heading north on 670th Street, slowed down to make a left-hand turn, crossed into the other lane and struck Drew-Elliott who was slowing down at the stop sign. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Neither driver reported injuries. Wood was cited for unsafe lane deviation.
Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 12:32 a.m. June 1 on 570th Avenue just west of County Road QQ in the town of Oak Grove. A 2006 Ford F150, driven by Dominick A. Weise, 16, Prescott, was traveling eastbound on 570th Avenue, ran off the right shoulder and struck the ditch. The vehicle skidded along on its passenger side before rolling an undetermined number of times, coming to a rest on all four tires. Weise was ejected through a side window; he was not wearing a seat belt. EMS transported him to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with suspected minor injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
A hit and run was reported at 12:19 p.m. June 3 on Highway 65 just north of 920th Street in the town of River Falls. A 2003 Kia Sportage, driven by Sonia Mejia Hernandez, 53, River Falls, was heading southbound on Highway 65 and crossed the center line several times. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a set of four mailboxes. Mejia Hernandez left the scene but was stopped later by law enforcement. The vehicle was towed with functional damage. No injuries were reported. Police arrested Mejia Hernandez for OWI-third and deviation from designated lane.
Police responded at 5:12 p.m. June 3 to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 29 just west of Westland Drive in the town of Gilman between a 2016 Toyota Rav4, driven by Abigail Teresa Nilssen, 19, Wilson, and a 2010 Ford Explorer, driven by Sharon Marie French, 75, Spring Valley. Both vehicles were heading east on Highway 29 when French stopped, preparing to turn left into W2812 Highway 29. Nilssen said she pumped her brakes, but didn’t see French until it was too late and struck her vehicle from behind. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported. Nilssen was cited for vehicle operator fail/wear seat belt.
Deputies were dispatched at 1:18 p.m. June 4 to a two-vehicle crash on County Road C just south of County Road V in the town of Hartland between a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by Angela Beth Skarman, 69, Ellsworth, and a John Deere Turbo 7720 farm tractor, driven by Jay William Bauer, 56, Ellsworth. Skarman, who stopped at s top sign, failed to yield the right of way while traveling south cand collided with Bauer, who was heading east on County Road V. Both vehicles had functional damage. Skarman, who was driving a school district van, had two juvenile passengers. No injuries were reported. Skarman was cited fail/yield right/way from stop sign.
Police were called at 5:17 p.m. June 4 to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 63 just north of 490th Street in the town of Martell. A 2011 Chrysler 300, driven by Patricia Jean Schmoller, 81, River Falls, was traveling westbound, failed to stop at a stop sign, drove over the island, struck the stop sign and into the west ditch, where it struck a tree. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. EMS transported Schmoller to Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin with suspected serious injuries.
Deputies were sent at 4:39 a.m. June 7 to a one-vehicle crash on 830th Avenue just east of Highway 65/29 in the town of River Falls. A 2021 Chevy Silverado, driven by Mallorie Rose Baggenstoss, 38, Ellsworth, was westbound on Cemetery Road, entered the roundabout, exited the roundabout onto 830th Avenue and drove straight off the dead-end road into the east ditch. The vehicle, which had functional damage, was towed. Baggenstoss, who fled the scene, reported suspected minor injuries but wasn’t transported. She was arrested for OWI and failure to keep vehicle under control.
Officers were dispatched at 6:34 a.m. June 9 to a one-vehicle rollover on Highway 65 just south of County Road J in the town of Trimbelle. A 1999 Lexus 400, driven by John Thomas Reusch, 21, Knapp, turned southbound off County Road J, lost control, entered the west ditch/culvert and overturned. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Reusch reported no injuries.
Deputies were called at 7:25 a.m. June 9 to a two-vehicle crash at highways 10 and 63 in the town of Ellsworth between a 2011 Dodge R2500, driven by Bryron Lee Gilles, 51, Ellsworth, and a 2017 Ford Explorer, driven by Barbara J. LaRue, 66, Ellsworth. Gilles was heading west on Highway 63 when LaRue left the stop sign and turned west onto Highway 63, drifted into his lane and caused a collision. LaRue said she pulled onto Highway 63 from the stop sign and Gilles came along with no lights on and struck her. Both vehicles had functional damage. Gilles, LaRue and her passenger Paul Thomas Enberg, 61, Ellsworth, reported no injuries.
Police responded at 7:35 p.m. June 10 to a one-vehicle crash on 730th Avenue just west of County Road CC in the town of Gilman. A 2004 Honda Accord, driven by Blake Allen Ihle, 16, Spring Valley, was heading westbound on 730th, crossed the centerline, oversteered and ran off the road to the right. The Honda struck the ditch, rolled once and came to a stop. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Ihle reported no injuries.
Officers were dispatched at 8:21 p.m. June 10 to a two-vehicle crash at County Road O and 690th Avenue in the town of River Falls between a 2005 GMC Sierra, driven by Lucas Keith Ronald Johnson, 19, River Falls, and a 2020 Ford F350, driven by Barry Edwin Young, 74, Ellsworth. Johnson was stopped at the intersection while traveling westbound on 690th, while Young was heading southbound on County Road O. Johnson attempted to cross both lanes of traffic on County Road O, failed to yield to Young and tow two collided, landing in the southwest ditch. Both vehicles also struck the eastbound stop sign. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported. Johnson was cited for failure to yield right of way.
Police were dispatched at 6:56 a.m. June 11 to a crash that occurred at 5 a.m. on Highway 63 just south of 490th Avenue in the town of Trimbelle. A 2003 Toyota Camry, driven by Logan Anthony Sammon, 25, Hager City, was heading north on Highway 63 when Sammon fell asleep, crossed the center line and into the western ditch. He struck a traffic sign and continued over a driveway before pulling back onto the roadway to park. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Sammon reported possible injuries but wasn’t transported. He was cited for non-registration of auto and failure to keep vehicle under control.
Officers responded at 4:19 p.m. June 12 to a two-vehicle crash at 490th Avenue and 610th Street in the town of Ellsworth between a 2020 Ford Fusion, driven by Justin Donald Hofacker, 29, Spring Valley, and a 2012 Jeep Patriot, driven by Erickson Lee Baker, 18, Ellsworth. Hofacker was traveling eastbound on 490th Avenue and failed to stop at a stop sign. He proceeded onto 610th Street where Baker struck him. Baker had no stop sign and had the right of way. Both vehicles spun and went into the field directly southeast of the intersection. They were both towed due to disabling damage. Both drivers reported suspected minor injuries, but were not transported. 2010 Chevy Impala, driven by Alexis Joanne Moyer, 27, Wabasha, Minn, was traveling northbound on Highway 35 when it swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. She entered the north ditch, hit a field drive and came to a stop. The vehicle had no damage but was towed. EMS transported Moyer to a Minnesota hospital with possible injuries. A 3-year-old child was not hurt.
Police were notified of a hit and run crash at 3:02 p.m. June 15 on 790th Street one mile west of Cottonwood Lane in the town of River Falls. An unknown vehicle ran over a stop sign, breaking off the post, along with an intersection signpost. Tire tracks were leading through the grass to the posts.

Police were dispatched at 9:13 a.m. June 22 to a two-vehicle crash at Campsite 37 at the Bay City Campground. John Edward Hiber, 60, Cottage Grove, Minn., was operating a motorized one-wheel when he ran into a legally parked 2024 Dodge Durango, owned by Maxsim Eduardovich Lasinker, Blaine, Minn. The Dodge had minor damage. No injuries were reported.
Deputies responded at 2:55 p.m. June 23 to a one-vehicle crash at N8107 330th St. in the town of Gilman. A 2024 Buick Envision, driven by Joyann Carol Wilson, 65, Spring Valley, was backing out of the cemetery when it veered to the right and struck a tree. The vehicle had functional damage. No injuries were reported.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 11:31 a.m. June 25 at Highway 10 and County Road DD between a 2025 Ram 1500 towing a mobile home, driven by Todd Michael Ihrke, 58, Red Wing, Minn., and a 2017 For Escape, driven by Ashley Sue Ronning, 34, Menomonie. Ronning, who was traveling south on County Road DD, proceeded from the stop sign and struck Ihrke’s trailer; he was traveling eastbound on Highway 10. Ihrke, passenger Jennifer Rebecca Ihrke, 53, Red Wing, Minn., and Ronning reported no injuries. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Ronning was cited for failure to yield right of way.
Deputies were dispatched at 10:49 p.m. June 27 to a two-vehicle crash in the 400 block of Plum City between a 2018 Subaru Outback, driven by Merlyn Allen Aude, 73, Pum City, and a legally parked 2017 GMC Sierra, owned by Donald Joseph Fedie, Pum City. Aude was traveling south on Main Street when he struck the GMC, which was legally parked. His vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof. The impact caused the GMC to move forward several feet. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported. Aude was arrested for OWI and failure to keep vehicle under control.
Police were called at 1:24 a.m. June 28 to a one-vehicle crash on 570th Avenue one-half mile east of County Road J in the town of Trimbelle. A 1998 Pontiac Sunfire convertible, driven by Madison Lynn Hanson, 16, Red Wing, Minn., was heading east when it ran off the road into the ditch. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Hanson had five passengers: Payton Camden Beaudet Huppert, 16, Ellsworth; Parker Haden Lampman, 16, Hager City; Darien Marie McGrath, 16, Beldenville; Knox Douglas Hines, 15, Ellsworth, and Atlanta Marie O’Neil, 16, Ellsworth. No injuries were reported. Hanson was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.
Deputies responded at 7:44 p.m. Saturday, June 28 to a motorcycle crash with injury on State Highway 35 near 301st Avenue in the town of Diamond Bluff. A 1995 Harley Davidson, driven by Jeffrey Lawstuen, 50, Rochester, Minn., was traveling northbound on Highway 35 when it lost control and entered the ditch. Both occupants were thrown from the motorcycle Passenger Haley Gatzke, 35, Rochester, Minn., reported suspected minor injuries but was not transported. EMS transported Lawstuen to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with suspected serious injuries. Neither rider wore a helmet. The bike was towed due to disabling damage. Wisconsin State Patrol, Ellsworth Fire Department, Red Wing Fire and Red Wing Ambulance assisted Pierce County deputies at the scene.
Officers responded at 1:35 a.m. July 2 to a motorcycle crash on County Road QQ just south of 1090th Street in the town of Oak Grove. A 2004 Honda CBR600, operated by Trenton Mathius Shuman, 18, River Falls, was traveling northbound on County Road QQ, swerved to miss a deer and went into the ditch. Shuman, who wore a helmet, was transported by private vehicle to River Falls Area Hospital with suspected minor injuries. The motorcycle was towed due to disabling damage.
Police responded at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday, July 1 to a motorcycle crash with injury on State Highway 35 near County Road A in Maiden Rock Township. A 2016 Harley Davidson, operated by Richard Heschke, 44, Bay City, was traveling southbound on State Road 35 when he struck a deer. Life Link III transported Heschke to Regions Hospital in Saint Paul with suspected serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet. He was cited for operate without valid license and non-registration of auto. The bike was towed. Lund Fire Department, Ellsworth Ambulance, Maiden Rock EMS and Life Link III assisted Pierce County deputies at the crash site.
Officers were dispatched at 12:01 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 to a single motorcycle crash with injury on State Highway 35 near 113th Avenue in Maiden Rock Township. A 2012 Harley Davidson, operated by Gerald Pribyl, 64, Cannon Falls, Minn., was traveling southbound on State Road 35 when it struck a deer. Plum City EMS transported Pribyl to Mayo Red Wing Hospital with suspected minor injuries. The motorcycle was towed due to disabling damage. Plum City EMS, Ellsworth EMS and the Lund Fire Department assisted Pierce County deputies.
Police were called at 10:09 p.m. Thursday, July 3 to a motorcycle crash with injury on County Road D near 250th Avenue in the town of Hartland. A 2021 Indian Roadmaster, operated by Matthew Feuerhelm, 54, Beldenville, was traveling northbound on County Road D when it lost control and entered the ditch. Life Link III Helicopter transported Feuerhelm to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undisclosed injuries. Ellsworth Fire and Ellsworth Ambulance Service also assisted Pierce County deputies at the scene.
Officers responded at 5 p.m. Friday, July 4 to a motorcycle crash with injuries on State Road 35 near 385th Street in Maiden Rock Township. A 2014 Harley Davidson, operated by Jason Mailand, 50, Saint Paul Park, Minn. was traveling northbound on State Road 35 when he struck deer. Mailand had a passenger who was identified as Angela Buck, 48 years of from Holmen. Plum City EMS transported Mailand to Mayo Red Wing Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Mayo One Helicopter transported Buck to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. with undisclosed injuries. Ellsworth Fire Department, Ellsworth EMS, Plum City EMS, Plum City Fire Department and Mayo One Helicopter assisted Pierce County deputies at the scene.
