Initial appearances

Richard Thomas Bandow, 42, North Branch, Minn., posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 6 on felony possession of methamphetamine, possess drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct charges. A preliminary hearing is slated for 2 p.m. Sept. 23.

Nicholas Troy Goodwin, 43, Ellsworth, pleaded not guilty and posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 11 on a contempt of court/disobey order charge. A status conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 25.

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Joshua Jon Malchaski, 43, Bay City, who missed an Aug. 11 initial appearance on operating while revoked (alcohol related) and possess drug paraphernalia charges.

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Devon Matthew Rehbein, 31, Bloomington, Minn., who missed an Aug. 11 initial appearance on felony bail jumping, misdemeanor bail jumping and computer message – threaten/obscenity charges.

Joey Lamont Wilson, 46, Prescott, pleaded not guilty and posted a $2,500 signature bond Aug. 11 on misdemeanor battery (domestic abuse) and disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) charges. A status conference is set for 2 p.m. Sept. 4.

Deferred cases

Breanna Jean Overland, 38, Prescott, pleaded guilty to possession of THC Aug. 7 and entered into a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. A possess drug paraphernalia charge was dismissed. The charges resulted from a March 4 incident.

Sara M. Schultz, 46, River Falls, was convicted of OWI-third (repeater) Aug. 11, sentenced to one year’s probation and 14 days in jail, fined $2,247 and ordered to install an ignition interlock device after a 30-month driver’s license revocation. She pleaded guilty to and entered into a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on a felony battery or threat to judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer (repeater) charge. A resisting or obstructing an officer (repeater) charge was read in but dismissed. An operating with PAC-third charge was dismissed. The charges stemmed from a Nov. 13, 2024 incident.

Anna M. Zachow, 54, Ellsworth, pleaded no contest to and entered into a deferred judgment of conviction agreement Aug. 11 on an operating while revoked (alcohol related) charge. The charge resulted from a Nov. 22, 2024 incident.

Closed cases

Landon Jon Alexander, 46, St. Paul, was convicted of operate without valid license (third within three years), operate without valid license (second within three years) and two misdemeanor bail jumping charges Aug. 8 and fined $1,244. Possess drug paraphernalia, three misdemeanor bail jumping and two operate without valid license (second within three years) charges were dismissed. The charges stemmed from incidents Jan. 21, 2024; June 5, 2024; Dec. 23, 2024; and March 27.

Jonathan David Gualan Lozano, 32, Wilson, was convicted of four operate without carrying a license charges Aug. 6 and fined $1,111.20. Five misdemeanor bail jumping (repeater), two ignition interlock device tampering/failure to install/violate court order (repeater) and ignition interlock device tampering/failure to install/violate court order (second+) charges were dismissed. The charges resulted from incidents April 15, 2024; Oct. 19 and 26, 2024 and Jan. 1.

A disorderly conduct charge against Jonathan Timothy Peterson, 23, Ellsworth, was dismissed Aug. 11 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge stemmed from a July 31, 2024 incident.
