Initial appearances

Michael Stephen Mueller, 44, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond May 12 on a felony OWI-fifth/sixth charge. A preliminary hearing is slated for 2:30 p.m. July 15.

A bench warrant was issued May 12 for the arrest of Alex Fernando Saltos Ona, 29, Hudson, who missed an initial appearance on OWI-first (with passenger < 16) and operating with PAC (passenger < 16) charges.

Perri L. Schiltgen, 59, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $10,000 signature bond May 12 on an intimidate victim/dissuade reporting charge. A status conference is slated for 11 a.m. July 3.

Robert Charles Shaub, 52, Ellsworth, pleaded not guilty and posted a $500 signature bond May 12 on an operating while revoked (alcohol related) charge. He also posted a $10,000 signature bond on felony possession of methamphetamine (repeater) and receiving or concealing stolen property (repeater) charges. A status conference is set for 3 p.m. July 1.

Jacklyn Ann Smith, 38, Red Wing, Minn., pleaded not guilty and posted a $10,000 signature bond May 12 on a credit card – fraudulent use charge. A status conference is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. July 1.

Closed cases

Battery (domestic abuse) and disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) charges against Dianna Marie Carrion-Dupey, 38, Prescott, were dismissed May 9. The charges stemmed from a June 5, 2024 incident.

Chelsea Victoria Hill, 35, Hastings, Minn., was sentenced to one year’s probation and fined $518 at a May 12 sentencing hearing, where a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on a felony neglecting a child (no harm and child < 6 or disability) was revoked. The charge resulted from a June 9, 2022 incident.

A possession of THC charge against Jake D. Kreuter, 23, River Falls, was dismissed May 12 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge stemmed from a Nov. 17, 2022 incident.

Samantha Lyn Larson, 23, River Falls, was convicted of OWI-second May 12, sentenced to five days in jail, fined $1,529 and ordered to undergo an alcohol assessment and install an ignition interlock device after a 12-month driver’s license revocation. Operate with restricted controlled substance (second) and operating while revoked (alcohol related) charges were dismissed. The charges resulted from a March 3, 2024 incident.
