Initial appearances

Blake Donald Field, 33, East Bethel, Minn., pleaded not guilty and posted a $10,000 signature bond Oct. 9 on contempt of court/disobey order (repeater), two felony bail jumping (repeater), receiving or concealing stolen property (as party to a crime, repeater) and theft – movable (as party to a crime, repeater) property charges. A preliminary hearing is slated for 2 p.m. Nov. 6.

Nathan David Garavalia, 49, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $1,000 signature bond Oct. 10 on a disorderly conduct charge. A status conference is set for 2:30 p.m. Nov. 5.

Matthew David Helke, 27, Rosemount, Minn., was ordered to pay $500 cash bond Oct. 13 on two felony battery to certain individuals involved with court or legal system, battery, resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct charges. A status conference is slated for 11:15 a.m. Nov. 5.

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Grace Lauren Juhl, 19, River Falls, who missed an Oct. 13 initial appearance on misdemeanor bail jumping, possession of THC and possession of controlled substances charges.

Marshall William Petrie, 30, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $500 signature bond Oct. 13 on an operate without valid license (second within three years) charge. A status conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. Dec. 15.

Lenin Roberto Pullaguari Lozano, 22, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $500 signature bond Oct. 9 on an operating while revoked (alcohol related) charge. A status conference is set for 3:15 p.m. Nov. 5.

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Melissa Ann Reinhardt, 41, Prescott, who missed an Oct. 9 initial appearance on two misdemeanor bail jumping, two resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct charges.

A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Ronald John Schumacher, 26, Red Wing, Minn., who missed an Oct. 13 initial appearance on possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia charges.

Daniel Lee Westphal, 43, Cokato, Minn., posted a $10,000 signature bond Oct. 8 on felony OWI-fourth and felony operating with PAC-fourth charges. A preliminary hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. Oct. 23.

Nicole Marie Whipple, 37, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond Oct. 13 on a felony take and drive vehicle without consent (repeater) charge. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Nov. 25.

Jerome Walter Zemke, 51, Shakopee, Minn., pleaded not guilty and posted a $5,000 signature bond Oct. 13 on two misdemeanor bail jumping charges. A status conference is slated for 2 p.m. Nov. 3.

Closed cases

Jeffery Alan Carr, 37, Ellsworth, was convicted of felony strangulation and suffocation (domestic abuse) Oct. 1, sentenced to two years or probation and fined $442 upon revocation of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement June 11. Felony bail jumping and operating while revoked (alcohol related) charges were read in but dismissed. The charges stemmed from incidents Feb. 26, 2023 and Dec. 4, 2024.

Umesh Ghaley, 26, Maplewood, Minn., was convicted of obstructing an officer and county – possess drug paraphernalia Oct. 7 and fined $555.60. The charges resulted from a Sept. 2 incident.

Lawrence Charles Hanna, 40, Ellsworth, felony possession of methamphetamine, two disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) and criminal damage to property (domestic abuse) charges Oct. 9, sentenced to three years or probation and fined $1,443. Criminal damage to property and intimidate victim/dissuade reporting charges were read in and dismissed. Two possess drug paraphernalia, two possession of THC and five felony bail jumping charges were dismissed. The charges stemmed from incidents Aug. 30, 2024; Oct. 23, 2024; Dec. 19, 2024 and Jan. 16.

Charles McNeil Manteufel, 41, River Falls, was convicted of disorderly conduct – county/municipality (domestic abuse) Oct. 8 and fined $377.80. The charge resulted from an Aug. 17 incident.

A disorderly conduct charge against Kyle Kenneth Rew, 49, River Falls, was dismissed Oct. 9 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge stemmed from a June 5, 2024 incident.

A disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) charge against Heidi Marie Weber, 41, Plum City, was dismissed Oct. 9 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge resulted from a June 25, 2024 incident.

OWI-third and operating with PAC-third charge against Daniel Lee Westphal, 43, Cokato, Minn., were dismissed Oct. 8. The charges stemmed from a June 26, 2021 incident.
