The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office March 18-31.

 

Tuesday, March 18

  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 12:12 a.m. at 140 W. Humble Ave.
  • Police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at 7:50 a.m. at W7540 Highway 35, Hager City. They tried calling the registered owner without success.
  • Police were dispatched to a fire call at 8:33 a.m. at W5857 690th, Beldenville.
  • Officers conducted a welfare check on a woman at 1:23 p.m. at N4013 730th, Ellsworth. An anonymous caller had reported a lot of trash near the house and yard. The woman said she was fine and would remove the trash in the spring.
  • Deputies assisted River Falls police at 5:01 p.m. at 1319 Oak St.
  • At 11:20 p.m., police stopped to check on a vehicle with its hood up on the side of the road at Highway 65 and Cemetery Road, River Falls. A man was arrested for a probation warrant.

 

Wednesday, March 19

  • Police conducted a mental health check at 4:38 a.m. at N7691 910th, River Falls. A safety plan was put into place.
  • At 7:21 a.m., a caller reported a dog running loose at 116 Highway 10, Plum City.
  • At 8:45 a.m., police assisted with traffic control during the removal of power lines at Highway 65 and 820th Street, River Falls.
  • Police responded to a civil matter between tenant and landlord at 11:09 a.m. at W9929 Highway 29, River Falls. The subject was provided with information regarding ongoing issues.
  • At 11:17 a.m., police investigated fraud committed over Facebook Marketplace at N8889 1031st, River Falls.
  • Police assisted EMS at a medical call at 2:19 p.m. at W8483 570th, Ellsworth. A female was transported to Red Wing Mayo.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a deceased person at 2:33 p.m. at 421 W. Cairns St.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a mental health patient at 3:27 p.m. at a group home at 140 W. Humble Ave.
  • A caller reported a bail bond violation at 6:14 p.m. at N2781 320th, Maiden Rock. A man admitted to drinking alcohol while on an open felony bond. Police forwarded a report to the district attorney.
  • At 7:16 p.m., cattle were reported near the roadway at W12490 Highway 35, Prescott. The culprits had mooo-ved on.
  • A missing mini white Dachshund was reported at 7:37 p.m. at W7352 Highway 65, Beldenville.
  • Deputies assisted Spring Valley police with a traffic stop at 10:09 p.m. at S119 McKay Ave.

 

Thursday, March 20

  • At 1:13 a.m., police discovered a sign that had been struck at N8117 County Road CC, Spring Valley. The vehicle had left the scene.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a traffic stop at 2:27 a.m. at 231 N. Bourbon Circle.
  • A horse was out in the roadway at 6:43 a.m. at County Road FF and 1090th Street, River Falls, Owners were working on rounding it up.
  • Deputies assisted Lund Fire Department at a grass fire at 12:30 p.m. at N616 130th, Stockholm.
  • At 2:23 p.m., police received information about dogs repeatedly running at large at N5770 1000th, Ellsworth. The owner was verbally warned.
  • The utility company was informed of a downed utility line at 6:07 p.m. at County Road S and 300th Street, Maiden Rock.
  • Deputies responded to a disturbance at 9:50 p.m. at 230 S. Main St. A woman was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and battery.
  • Officers were dispatched to a theft at 10:14 p.m. at N1343 Katie Lane, Bay City.

 

Friday, March 21

  • Probation & Parole requested a welfare check on a man at 6:10 a.m. at 311 S. Woodworth St., Elmwood. He was fine.
  • At 7:35 a.m., police came across two signs that appeared to have been snapped off by a vehicle that left the road at Highway 72 and County Road S, Elmwood.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a business alarm at 8:43 a.m. at 463 E. Wall St.
  • Fraud was reported at 1:01 p.m. at W3018 Highway 29, Spring Valley.
  • At 1:49 p.m., a caller at W12019 742nd, River Falls, reported missing credit and debit cards being used by someone other than their owner.
  • An inmate about to be released attempted suicide at 3:25 p.m. at Pierce County Jail. They were released and put on a safety plan.
  • Deputies assisted the Wisconsin State Patrol at 3:38 p.m. at N5981 745th, Ellsworth.
  • Horses were reportedly running down the road at 4:33 p.m. at N3453 County Road O, Ellsworth. They were not located.
  • Deputies were dispatched to stand by and keep the peace at 5:01 p.m. at N8199 940th, River Falls. The residents weren’t comfortable with the situation and wanted to make other arrangements.
  • Officers responded to a motorcycle crash with injuries at 6:10 p.m. at County Road C and 730th Street, Bay City. EMS transported the driver to Red Wing Mayo.
  • Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at 7:55 p.m. at Highway 35 and 125th Avenue, Bay City.

 

Saturday, March 22

  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with an OWI at 2:31 a.m. at 426 Railroad Ave.
  • At 11:41 a.m., a man at W6388 Highway 35, Hager City, called to complain that the mother of his children was missing and not fulfilling her obligations. Police spoke to a family member, who said her phone was off to avoid contact with the man.
  • At 11:57 a.m., police checked on smoke at W7617 County Road N, Beldenville. The resident was warned to call a controlled burn into dispatch.
  • Police assisted firefighters with a cornfield that caught fire from a nearby fire burning cardboard at 3:36 p.m. at W6652 320th, Ellsworth.
  • Deputies responded to a grass fire at 3:54 p.m. at W11270 470th, Prescott.
  • At 5:15 p.m., police located a telephone wire hanging low at W3716 Highway 10, Maiden Rock. There appeared to be no danger.
  • Officers assisted with a medical call at 8:50 p.m. at W6454 Highway 35, Bay City.
  • Suspicious activity was reported at 9:02 p.m. at W7145 148th, Bay City.
  • At 9:47 p.m., an officer on patrol arrested a man with warrants at Bay and Kinne streets in Ellsworth.
  • Police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at 11:50 p.m. at W7740 520th, Ellsworth. A man was putting belongings in his storage unit.

 

Sunday, March 23

  • Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at 12:10 a.m. at N1713 County Road EE, Bay City.
  • Officers assisted at a medical call at 6:53 a.m. at N1796 County Road S, Plum City.
  • Deputies assisted Prescott police with a threats complaint at 10:28 a.m. at 1020 Highway 10.
  • Officers assisted jail staff with an inmate at 11:16 a.m. at Pierce County Jail. He spoke with Northwest Connections.
  • At 1:31 p.m., a caller reported a fire at 690th Street and 780th Avenue, River Falls. The resident had not called in a controlled burn.
  • At 3:39 p.m., police assisted with a CO2 alarm at W324 Highway 29, Spring Valley.
  • Police responded to a possible fire at 9:13 p.m. at N5683 1245th, Prescott. It was a controlled burn on the Minnesota side.
  • Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check at 9:23 p.m. at N1787 150th, Plum City. The subject was fine.
  • Officers were dispatched to a business alarm at 10:19 p.m. at N8230 945th, River Falls. Everything was fine.
  • Deputies observed a suspicious vehicle at 10:49 p.m. at N1555 770th, Hager City. The subject were talking; police told them to pick a different location.

 

Monday, March 24

  • Officers assisted EMS with a man showing stroke symptoms at 12:33 a.m. at N6579 County Road J, Beldenville.
  • An unwanted subject was reported at 6:38 a.m. at 611 First St., Plum City.
  • Police were asked to respond at 8:56 a.m. to W4363 Highway 35, Maiden Rock, by a BNSF officer in regard to garbage dumping and trespassing.
  • A washer and dryer was found dumped at 11:52 a.m. near County Road O and 570th Avenue, Ellsworth. Police attempted to locate the owners.
  • Police were notified of potholes in the road at 11:55 a.m. at 690th Street and County Road C, Ellsworth.
  • Deputies performed a welfare check at 1:54 p.m. at N7848 535th, Spring Valley. The subject was fine and had made concerning comments out of anger.
  • Officers were dispatched at 6:06 p.m. to N6385 County Road N, Beldenville, for an intoxicated person report. The person was arrested for OWI-second and other offenses.
  • Police assisted EMS at 7:15 p.m. at W6144 County Road EE, Bay City.
  • A Blue Heeler mix was found at 8:26 p.m. at N4232 Highway 63, Ellsworth.
  • At 10:16 p.m., police were informed of an intoxicated man trying to drive at N1364 790th, Hager City. His girlfriend took his keys from him and he walked home. Police didn’t need to respond.
  • Police responded to a business alarm at 11:26 p.m. at N4306 Highway 63, Ellsworth. Everything appeared to be secure with no signs of forced entry.

 

Tuesday, March 25

  • Police responded to a domestic at 6:41 a.m. at N7848 535th, Spring Valley. A man pushed his way through a locked door. He was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a 72-hour no contact order was enforced.
  • A disabled vehicle was towed to the registered owner’s home at 7:57 a.m. from County Road C and 490th Avenue, Ellsworth. It has presented a traffic hazard.
  • At 11:53 a.m., police spoke with a resident at W7194 450th, Ellsworth, about an abandoned vehicle that had been on the property for a few years. They were unable to contact the owner. They were told to contact the DMV for title purposes.
  • Lost dogs were reported at 1:17 p.m. at N1010 570th, Bay City.
  • Officers responded to a domestic argument at 1:46 p.m. at N7573 1090th, River Falls. The parties agreed to separate.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 2:22 p.m. at N5621 950th, Ellsworth.
  • At 4:40 p.m., a caller at N7193 1170th, Prescott, reported another child had gotten off the school bus with his daughter. The bus returned to pick up the child and brought them to their residence.
  • A large boulder was reported in the road at 4:42 p.m. near W5878 Highway 35, Bay City. The highway department removed it.
  • At 5:17 p.m., police stopped to check on a vehicle parked on the side of the road near County Road D and Highway 35, Bay City. The driver said she had struck a boulder which punctured her oil pan.
  • Deputies were dispatched to a property damage call at 6:11 p.m. at W7969 180th, Hager City. Suspects have been driving through the complainant’s yard.
  • Deputies assisted Prescott police with a juvenile complaint at 6:11 p.m. in the 1100 block of Willow Lane.
  • A dog was found at 6:25 p.m. at N4791 1150th, Prescott.
  • A woman was found dead at 10:33 p.m. at W5107 370th, Bay City.

 

Wednesday, March 26

  • A caller had an animal complaint at 10:55 a.m. at N5154 County Road O, Ellsworth. They were transferred to the DNR Wildlife Switchboard.
  • Police arrested a woman for a felony extradition warrant, possession of methamphetamine and possess drug paraphernalia at 11:24 a.m. at W6538 Market St., Bay City.
  • Officers responded to a minor car accident at 2:14 p.m. at S213 McKay Ave., Spring Valley. A man drove into a truck and damaged his bumper with the truck’s hitch. It was less than $1,000 in damage.
  • Police assisted fire units with a grass and shed fire at W12250 770th, River Falls. A drone video documented the scene.
  • At 2:47 p.m., a rural River Falls woman reported receiving a scam call from someone pretending to be calling on behalf of her doctor. They were trying to gather personal information, but she refused to answer questions.
  • Police responded to a fire call at 3:30 p.m. at 890th Avenue and 540th Street, Baldwin. A landowner was chopping cornstalks when a bearing went out on the chopper and started the fire.
  • Police were dispatched to a domestic at 8:09 p.m. at W3290 County Road G, Elmwood. They collected photos and information.

 

Thursday, March 27

  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 12:23 a.m. at Highway 10 and Hill Street.
  • Officers were dispatched to a verbal argument at 5:15 a.m. at N1817 785th, Hager City. They worked through their differences and were okay leaving together.
  • Police checked on a suspicious vehicle with its hood up at 10:01 a.m. at W5440 Highway 63, Spring Valley (county park area). A couple said they were doing vehicle maintenance before going on a hike.
  • An arrest was made at 10:22 a.m. at 1813 Canton Road, Prescott.
  • Police assisted EMS with a medical at 11:42 a.m. at N5229 1220th, Prescott.
  • Officers assisted with a grass fire at 1:41 p.m. at N8847 Highway 29, Spring Valley.
  • Deputies assisted fire personnel at 3 p.m. at W10091 690th, River Falls.
  • Officers responded to a UTV crash at 6:06 p.m. at 690th Avenue and 490th Street, Beldenville. No injuries were reported.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 7:30 p.m. at Evergreen Estates and Cairns streets.
  • Deputies assisted Prescott police with a subject they brought to the jail at 11:14 p.m.

 

Friday, March 28

  • At 2:23 a.m., police received a complaint of a woman making suicidal comments and possibly driving while intoxicated at 710th Street and 450th Avenue, Ellsworth. The suspect was arrested for OWI-first. She denied making suicidal comments.
  • Police responded to a welfare check request at 7:54 a.m. at N8052 510th, Spring Valley. No vehicles were in the driveway and nobody appeared to be home. They were left a voicemail.
  • At 12:04 p.m., a caller requested a welfare check on someone standing at county roads F and MM, Prescott, for hours. They were not located.
  • Police conducted a welfare check at 1:31 p.m. at N5679 County Road J, Ellsworth. The person was fine.
  • At 3:09 p.m., damage was reported at W3824 110th, Maiden Rock. The possible suspects were warned.
  • Deputies assisted EMS at 4:39 p.m. at N8481 850th, River Falls.
  • Police were dispatched to an animal complaint at 4:55 p.m. at county roads DD and C, Bay City. No loose animals were located.
  • Police were asked to do a welfare check at 4:55 p.m. at N5679 County Road J, Ellsworth. The person was found intoxicated with a gash on his forehead. EMS transported him to the hospital.
  • At 5:31 p.m., a complainant reported someone possibly living under the bridge at 780th Avenue and 535th Street, Spring Valley. Nothing was found.
  • At 8:54 p.m., police spoke about issues the complainant had with a photo in a private business at N1817 785th, Hager City. He was told to speak to the owner in order to resolve the issue.
  • Police received an anonymous welfare check of a man sending possible suicidal messages on Snapchat at 9:23 p.m. at 440 E. Wall St. The man told officers he was fine.

 

Saturday, March 29

  • Officers observed a suspicious vehicle at 3:35 a.m. at N1298 530th, Bay City. Everything seemed to be in order.
  • At 11:46 a.m., police were informed of a dog bite that occurred at N1959 830th, Hager City, in which the victim retrieved a handgun during the incident. Interviews were conducted and a quarantine order issued.
  • At 12:50 p.m., a business owner at N1817 785th, Hager City, reported someone who had come in and caused a disturbance. The subject was trespassed from the business and apologized for the incident.
  • At 2:33 p.m., a caller reported three juveniles entering a residence and another property without permission at W5368 790th, Spring Valley. They were detained and turned over to their parents.
  • At 5:04 p.m., a caller at N7420 County Road O, River Falls, called police several times to report his family harassing him. The family members also called dispatch to report opposite information. Both parties were advised to stop communicating.
  • Deputies were dispatched at 6:57 p.m. to 230 E. Race Ave., Elmwood, for an open door. Nothing appeared to be damaged or missing.
  • Deputies responded to a suspicious activity call at 9:20 p.m. at County Road CC and Highway 10, Maiden Rock. Nothing was found.
  • A tree was down in the road at 9:29 p.m. at N7155 690th, Beldenville. The township removed it.
  • A caller reported the road flooding at 9:50 p.m. at County Road OO and Highway 35, Hager City.
  • Police were called at 10:15 p.m. to W7990 150th, Hager City, for smoke in a basement after a lightning strike.
  • Suspicious activity was reported at 11:13 p.m. at W8357 190th, Hager City. Everything appeared to be okay.

 

Sunday, March 30

  • Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at 1:32 a.m. at Highway 63 and 825th Street (north intersection), Hager City. The vehicle was unoccupied.
  • Loose cattle were reported at 2:19 a.m. at county roads C and V, Ellsworth. The cows were rounded up and secured.
  • Police responded to a hit and run crash at 2:58 p.m. at 128 N. Main St., Elmwood. Photos were taken. Attempts to reach the driver were unsuccessful.
  • Officers conducted a welfare check at 6:03 a.m. on a woman sending weird messages at N7385 1170th, Prescott. She was fine and admitted she’d been intoxicated when she sent the messages.
  • A lost dog was reported at 8:14 a.m. at N5496 Highway 29, Spring Valley.
  • Trees over the roadway were reported at 10:21 a.m. at 830th Street and 285th Avenue, Hager City. The township removed them.
  • A washed-out road was reported at 1:18 p.m. at Nugget Lake County Park (N4351 County Road HH, Plum City).
  • Deputies assisted River Falls police at 4:35 p.m. at 303 S. Main St.
  • Officers assisted with a vehicle fire at 5:59 p.m. at N535 Doug Blegen Drive, Spring Valley.
  • Police were asked to conduct a welfare check on a man who hadn’t answered his phone all day at 6:14 p.m. at N5981 745th, Ellsworth. He was fine and didn’t want to answer the phone.
  • Deputies removed a tree from the road at 6:50 p.m. at Highway 10 and 730th Street, Ellsworth.
  • Deputies responded to a business alarm at 11:50 p.m. at 1141 S. Main St. Everything was in order.

 

Monday, March 31

  • Deputies assisted Prescott police with a suspicious person at 12:09 a.m. at 1200 Henry St.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a domestic at 3:09 a.m. at 845 W. Main St.
  • Deputies assisted EMS with a medical at 5:41 a.m. at W7670 Highway 10, Ellsworth.
  • Criminal damage to property was reported at 7:48 a.m. at W7969 180th, Hager City.
