The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office May 12-18.

Monday, May 12

  • Police were dispatched at 1:21 p.m. to assist Ellsworth police at Ellsworth Elementary School (445 S. Piety St.) but were cancelled before they arrived.
  • Deputies responded to a medical call at 3:11 p.m. at W4890 Highway 29, Spring Valley. EMS transported a man to the hospital.
  • At 3:23 p.m., officers were dispatched to W4418 370th, Ellsworth, where they put out a fire on a burning wood splitter.
  • A gas line was hit during digging operations at 4:08 p.m. at W3470 Highway 35, Maiden Rock.
  • Police responded to a vehicle on fire at 4:27 p.m. at County Road BB and 870th Avenue, Baldwin. An accident report was completed.
  • At 4:42 p.m., a woman at N3706 690th, Ellsworth, reported issues with a handyman. When she told him he didn’t do a good job, he took the work he had completed around her yard apart.
  • Police were dispatched to a rollover tractor accident with no injury at 6:20 p.m. at County Road CC and 250th Avenue, Maiden Rock.
  • Officers assisted River Falls police at 8:14 p.m. at 1204 Bartosh Lane.

 

Tuesday, May 13

  • Deputies conduct a welfare check on someone who hadn’t been heard from in a few hours at 12:48 a.m. at W7975 140th, Hager City. They were fine.
  • At 10:09 a.m., officers received a trespassing complaint of a one-ton white Ford containing multiple men coming onto the property at W4582 Highway 10, Ellsworth. The caller believed the men were looking for morel mushrooms.
  • Officers assisted EMS at a medical at 10:22 a.m. at 510 First St., Plum City.
  • At 11:46 a.m., police received a driving complaint of a vehicle’s doors opening while the vehicle was in motion on Highway 35 near County Road O, Hager City. The driver was stopped and cited for operate without valid license, possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia.
  • Deputies assisted Prescott police with a welfare check at noon at 138 N. Broad St.
  • Police responded to a suspicious person complaint at 4:59 p.m. at N1833 785th, Hager City. The man didn’t want to identify himself. Nothing disruptive was observed.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth fire and police departments at 5:40 p.m. at the Pierce County Fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St.)
  • Police were dispatched to a drug complaint at 7:07 p.m. at Spring Valley Health & Rehab (S830 Westland Drive, Spring Valley). Several items were seized.
  • Officers assisted Ellsworth police and EMS at 7:55 p.m. at 366 W. Overlook Drive.
  • A caller reported loose horses near the roadway at 8:19 p.m. at N1761 County Road U, Plum City. The owner said they’d retrieve them.
  • Officers were dispatched to a domestic at 11:39 p.m. at 245 Highway 65, River Falls.

 

Wednesday, May 14

  • At 11:55 a.m., police responded to visible smoke at N7970 650th, River Falls. The homeowner said he would go watch over the controlled burn. He was advised to contact dispatch whenever having a controlled burn.
  • Police responded to a hit and run crash at 12:27 p.m. at Spring Valley Middle/High School (S1450 County Road CC).
  • Police and EMS were dispatched to a medical at 2:44 p.m. at N8452 1015th, River Falls.
  • At 3:42 p.m., a Bay City caller reported receiving fraudulent text messages regarding toll booth fees. He wanted PCSO to be aware of a potential scam.
  • At 4:46 p.m., a horse was located on the roadway at N4831 170th, Elmwood. The owner arrived to get the animal.
  • Deputies were dispatched to a domestic at 5:55 p.m. at W4419 Highway 29, Spring Valley. A man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
  • At 6:38 p.m., a man at N6020 870th, Ellsworth, said family members wanted to remove property from his residence. They eventually left and he wanted no further action taken.
  • At 9:24 p.m., a motorist reported cattle in the roadway near N6608 County Road N, Beldenville. They were put back behind their fence.
  • Officers assisted Ellsworth police with a traffic stop at 10:22 p.m. at Maple Street and Overlook Drive.

 

Thursday, May 15

  • Police saw a man walking at 1:25 a.m. near County Road C and Highway 35, Bay City. He declined any assistance.
  • Deputies responded to a business alarm at 2:43 a.m. at 1211 W. Winter Ave., Elmwood. No forced entry was observed.
  • Police were dispatched to a second business alarm at 5:07 a.m. at 1211 W. Winter Ave., Elmwood. They located a leaking propane tank.
  • Deputies assisted RF police at 12:32 p.m. at Second and Spring streets.
  • Officers responded to a home alarm at 1:04 p.m. atW9762 290th, Hager City. People there were working on a water system.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 2:21 p.m. at Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.)
  • Officers were dispatched to an animal complaint at 4:52 p.m. at county roads C and V, Ellsworth. The farmers were on the scene returning the cattle to their pen and fixing the fence.
  • A caller reported a dog at large at 5:49 p.m. at N1959 830th, Hager City. They could not reach the dog’s owner.
  • Deputies assisted EMS at 7:23 p.m. at N5296 330th, Elmwood.
  • Officers assisted EMS at 7:25 p.m. at W11534 474th, River Falls.
  • A downed utility line was reported at 7:59 p.m. at Highway 29, River Falls. All lines were checked and seemed to be in order.

 

Friday, May 16

  • Officers observed a suspicious person and activity at 1:26 a.m. at Highway 29 and 690th The driver was on probation and had an open case for felony meth possession. Nothing was found in the vehicle, but the woman was fined for expired registration.
  • At 2:24 a.m., dispatch spoke to a man sad about his dog’s death at W81-8 760th, River Falls.
  • At 7:59 a.m., police checked on a man walking in the ditch on Highway 35 in Hager City. He was looking for his cat, on which he had an Apple air tag.
  • Officers assisted with moving a tree and traffic control at 8:51 a.m. at W4940 Highway 10, Ellsworth.
  • Police responded to a car vs. tree crash at 9:33 a.m. at W4940 Highway 10, Maiden Rock.
  • At 10:07 a.m., police notified highway department staff of an overhanging tree in the shoulder at Highway 63 and 535th Street, Spring Valley.
  • At 10:52 a.m., officers were informed of a tree in the roadway at N6887 620th, Beldenville. The complainant’s husband was able to remove half of it. The township was going to cut up the rest.
  • At 12:43 p.m., police responded to a welfare check at W1854 130th, Maiden Rock. They took a man to the VA’s ER for a voluntary commitment.
  • Police assisted the highway department in removing a tree from the road at 12:47 p.m. at N4831 County Road O, Ellsworth.
  • The township removed trees from the road at 1:14 p.m. near 390th and 370th avenues, Hager City.
  • At 2:34 p.m., officers stood by while a woman retrieved her cat and children’s belongings from 431 W. Pierce Ave., Elmwood.
  • At 4:06 p.m., police spoke with a man about paying his camping bill at W3525 Park St., Maiden Rock.
  • A missing steer was reported at 5 p.m. at W12611 Highway 35, Prescott. The steer was located.
  • Officer were informed of possible dog neglect at 7:47 p.m. at N7848 535th, Spring Valley. The dog’s owners said they had been gone for a couple of hours. There were no signs of neglect.
  • At 8:15 p.m., a motorist at N7874 535th, Spring Valley, waved police down after running out of gas. They were given a courtesy ride back to their vehicle.
  • Deputies assisted with a fallen tree at 9:56 p.m. at 1250th Street and 735th Avenue, River Falls.
  • Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash with injury at 11:08 p.m. at County Road O and 710th Avenue, River Falls. Family transported the driver to a hospital.

 

Saturday, May 17

  • Police checked on a suspicious unoccupied vehicle at 1:58 a.m. at 444 Park Road, Plum City.
  • Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle at 3:10 a.m. at W7540 Highway 35, Hager City. The driver said they were resting.
  • At 6:21 a.m., police responded to W4890 Highway 29, Spring Valley, for two females who hitchhiked to the gas station after running out of gas. One female accused the driver of stealing her phone, which she didn’t know she lost. They were able to get a gas can and given a ride back to their vehicle.
  • Police stood by with a downed tree at 6:41 a.m. at county roads SS and U, Plum City, until the highway department could remove it.
  • At 9:11 a.m., the owner of the gas station (W3541 Highway 35, Maiden Rock) called police about bakery customers parking in his parking lot. Police spoke to the bakery owner about the parking problem.
  • Police were present for a property exchange at 11:25 a.m. at N4369 530th, Ellsworth. The parties remained cordial.
  • Officers assisted RF police and EMS at 12:21 p.m. at a home in the 1800 block of Rodao Drive for a female who had cut herself in the shower multiple times in an exhibit of self-harm.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police came across a man walking in the ditch near Highway 63 and 690th Avenue, Beldenville. When he saw police, he took off running toward his ATV and sped off. He was located and cited for lack of ATV safety.
  • At 2:34 p.m., police took an anonymous complaint of a dog scaring people out walking at N1435 810th, Hager City. Officers were not successful in reaching the property owner.
  • Police were dispatched to loose cattle in a field at 4:53 p.m. at Highway 63 and 320th Avenue, Hager City. The property owner was attempting to contact the cattle’s owner.
  • A stolen phone was reported at 5:47 p.m. at Sabin Avenue and Second Street, Spring Valley. The phone was located and returned to its owner.
  • Deputies dispatched a sick raccoon at 6:48 p.m. at 780th Avenue an 535th Street, Spring Valley.
  • Officers were dispatched to an unwanted person complaint at 9:36 p.m. at 519 W. May Ave., Elmwood.
  • Deputies assisted Ellsworth police in searching for a suspicious person at 11:57 p.m. at 550 Burton Circle.

 

Sunday, May 18

  • Deputies assisted Prescott police in booking an uncooperative subject arrested at 1:44 a.m. at 114 Broad St.
  • Police were dispatched to an animal complaint at 8:11 a.m. at N7838 535th, Spring Valley. The complainant had gone onto another person’s property and was knocked down by a dog. She didn’t want anything done.
  • Deputies responded to a report of two suspicious vehicles at 9:35 a.m. at N6081 1170th, Prescott. They searched the area but found nothing.
  • Officers responded to an animal complaint at 9:53 a.m. at Highway 35 and County Road S, Maiden Rock.
