The following incidents were reported to Pierce County Sheriff's Office May 5-12, 2025.
Monday, May 5
At 10:23 p.m., a citizen reported a civil matter at 108 Eau Galle Drive, Elmwood.
A cow broke out of its fence at 10:35 a.m. at 1259th Street and Highway 35, Prescott. The owner was able to corral the sneaky bovine.
At 11:17 a.m., police conducted a welfare check on juvenile walking near county roads I and B, Spring Valley. They were fine.
At 11:40 a.m., a resident at N7781 1185th, River Falls, reported purchasing coins but not receiving them. The transaction is suspected to be fraudulent.
A missing person was reported at 1:04 p.m. at W8948 Highway 35, Hager City. They later returned home.
Police conducted a welfare check at 1:08 p.m. at 104 Cherry Ave. W., Plum City. A safety plan was put into place.
At 2:10 p.m., police spoke with a complainant who was upset with the highway department for spraying trees and grass near county roads M and F, Prescott. He was advised to contact the highway department supervisor.
At 2:19 p.m., police were notified of an abandoned vehicle left in a driveway at N8139 Highway 128, Spring Valley. They were advised to have it towed.
At 3:14 p.m., police assisted fire department personnel with an out-of-control grass fire at N7242 County Road J, Beldenville.
At 5:15 p.m., police were dispatched to animal complaint at N6150 County Road CC, Elmwood. Horses were located on the caller’s property. The owner was enroute to collect them.
A complainant reported a theft at 5:23 p.m. atN3376 570th, Bay City.
At 6:21 p.m., a caller reported finding suspicious mail in his mailbox at 108 S. Woodworth St., Elmwood, and turned it over to police. It was determined to be a scam.
At 7:08 p.m., deputies were notified that a dog had been struck in a driveway at W3540 Lakeview Ave., Maiden Rock.
Deputies assisted EMS at 7:54 p.m. at W12090 850th, River Falls.
Deputies assisted St. Croix authorities with an investigation at 8:57 p.m. at W9741 619th, Ellsworth.
Deputies assisted EMS at 11:28 p.m. at N2001 690th, Bay City.
Tuesday, May 6
At 5:17 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious vehicle that had been parked along the roadway near W9875 690th, River Falls, the past few mornings. Police observed turkey hunting gear in the vehicle.
A woman called police at 12:51 p.m. to report her husband had gotten out of the vehicle near N4954 Highway 63, Ellsworth, after an argument and refused to get back in. She asked officers to check on him as he walked. He said he was fine and wanted to be alone.
At 2:06 p.m., officers collected information on a possible theft at a business at S119 McKay Ave., Spring Valley. They will speak with other employees and collect statements.
Officers conducted a welfare check at 2:08 p.m. at 387 N. Liberty Road, River Falls.
A dog was found at 6:20 p.m. at W1672 850th, Spring Valley. It had no identifying information. Dispatch gave the caller information on a local shelter.
At 7:18 p.m., a caller reported a man had parked his vehicle in a front yard at W7250 170th, Plum City, a place at which he does not reside. Police located him and arrested him for OWI-first and lewd and lascivious behavior. He was also cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
At 11:33 p.m., deputies removed a dead bear from the roadway at W4857 Highway 35, Bay City.
Wednesday, May 7
Police assisted Elmwood EMS and Elmwood Fire with a CO2 alarm at 1:11 a.m. at W4270 270th, Maiden Rock.
Vandalism was reported at 9:55 a.m. at the Spring Valley Launderette (E119 Central St.)
At caller reported cattle out in the roadway at 11:16 a.m. near County Road G and Highway 63, Beldenville, but none were located.
A loose dog was found at 11:20 a.m. at N3453 County Road O, Hager City.
At 2:20 p.m., police responded to a grill fire on a deck at N5374 965th, Hager City. When they arrived, the fire had been mostly contained.
Police conducted a welfare check on a woman at 5:07 p.m. at W1229 Lois St., Spring Valley. She went with her husband to the hospital.
A disorderly person was reported at 7:43 p.m. at W9931 Highway 29, River Falls. Both parties were interviewed.
Officers were asked to conduct a welfare check on someone with a history of self-harm sent at 9:16 p.m. from Sugars (N1620 County Road VV, Hager City). They were not located.
Police observed an open gate at 10:10 p.m. at N2042 County Road VV, Hager City. They drove around but saw nothing concerning, then secured the gate.
Thursday, May 8
Deputies located a wayward flock of geese at 12:44 a.m. near County Road FF and 1090th Street, River Falls. They were returned to their home.
Deputies assisted RF police at 2:01 a.m. at 1041 State St.
A cow was hanging out in the middle of the road at 6:49 a.m. at 1090th Street and Highway 10, Prescott. It was pushed back behind its enclosure.
At 10:24 a.m., a caller requested a welfare check on a man near the train tracks at Highway 35 and 830th Street, Hager City. He was taking pictures of trains.
At 10:53 a.m., a woman flagged down deputies to report a black bear in her backyard at W12198 770th, River Falls. She had already contacted the DNR.
Police checked on a man walking down the road at 12:45 p.m. at W8948 Highway 35, Hager City. He was agreeable to a ride home. Police contacted a county social worker, who is working on a plan for him.
At 1:09 p.m., a River City Metals (N3941 Highway 35, Prescott) employee reported fraud. Someone had weighted scrap metal, then altered the weight ticket to show more weight than what was dropped off.
Officers assisted EMS at 2:21 p.m. at N729 825th, Hager City. A woman was transported to the hospital.
Cows were playing in the road at 4:26 p.m. at W5944 County Road V, Bay City. Police were able to put them in their place.
Deputies assisted Ellsworth police at 6:54 p.m. at 129 Evergreen Estates St.
Police checked on a vehicle parked at the boat launch at 9 p.m. at W3525 Park St., Maiden Rock. They were waiting for a friend.
Deputies assisted RF police at Pierce County Jail at 10:02 p.m. after they brought someone in from 117 N. Fourth St., RF.
Deputies assisted RF police at 11:07 p.m. at 62 E. Cascade Ave.
Deputies assisted RF police at 11:12 p.m. at 1510 Cemetery Road.
Friday, May 9
Officers conducted a welfare check on a man at 12:13 p.m. at W4419 Highway 29, Spring Valley. The man was coherent and fine.
A civil issue was reported at 2:35 p.m. at W4247 640th, Ellsworth.
Officers were dispatched to an animal complaint at 5:23 p.m. at W6734 610th, Ellsworth. A skunk was dispatched.
At 9:05 p.m., a caller reported finding a deceased male in a vehicle at a cemetery at W9668 290th, Hager City.
Police were dispatched to a theft at 9:31 p.m. at N1817 785th, Hager City.
At 11:06 p.m., a woman at N6527 1323rd, Prescott, called police to report her husband had left with all the vehicle keys after an argument and was refusing to return them. She was advised it was a civil issue.
Officers were called to a grass fire at 11:39 p.m. at W11741 485th, Prescott. When police made contact with the complainant, she said she learned the neighbors were having a bonfire she didn’t know about and all was fine.
Saturday, May 10
Deputies responded to a call concerning ongoing driving complaints at 12:21 a.m. near 1000th Street and 640th Avenue, River Falls. Deputies spoke to several people and issued a final warning.
Officers were dispatched to an assault at 1:13 a.m. at N1090 825th, Hager City. The caller stated her hand was injured when she was attacked.
At 1:53 a.m., police saw a man loading wood into a vehicle on the side of the road near N1090 825th, Hager City. He said he didn’t need assistance.
Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a possible domestic at 9:33 a.m. at 454 High Point Drive.
Officers responded to a home alarm at 10:44 a.m. at W4041 890th, Baldwin. The home was secure; it was a false alarm.
Police assisted EMS with a medical episode at 2:50 p.m. N1182 570th, Bay City.
Police conducted a welfare check on a woman involved the previous night in a domestic at 3:55 p.m. at N6527 1323rd, Prescott. She was interviewed.
Officers were dispatched to a trespassing report at 5:43 p.m. at W3261 County Road AA, Maiden Rock. The complainant confronted the suspects, who left before police arrived.
A caller reported horses loose on the road at 7:38 p.m. at County Road CC and 370th Avenue, Maiden Rock. They were caught and taken back to their property.
At 9:52 p.m., deputies assisted Prescott police with an apparent suicide and death notification at an address in the 1200 block of Walnut Street.
Sunday, May 11
Deputies assisted Ellsworth Police and Fire departments with a fire alarm at 2:25 a.m. at 481 W. Highland Drive. It turned out to be burnt food.
Deputies assisted RF police with a welfare check at 2:54 a.m. at 851 Wild Rose Ave.
Officers assisted EMS with a medical at 10:52 a.m. at W920 Cardinal Drive, Spring Valley.
Police responded to a possible grass fire at 11:48 a.m. at 450th Street and 730th Avenue, Beldenville. A previous fire had rekindled in the ditch and people on the scene agreed to monitor it.
Police conducted a welfare check at 2:26 p.m. at W5820 Highway 29, River Falls.
Officers removed a fallen tree from the roadway at 4:03 p.m. at Highway 10 and 490th Street, Ellsworth.
Deputies were dispatched to an animal complaint at 6:45 p.m. at County Road G and 210th Street, Elmwood.
Officers mediated a neighbor dispute at 7:58 p.m. at W9870 788th, River Falls.
Police were called about loud music being played at 11:13 p.m. at N1691 770th, Hager City. They were asked to keep the sound down.
Monday, May 12
Deputies were dispatched to another noise complaint at 12:27 a.m. at N1691 770th, Hager City. They said they’d turn it down.
Officers assisted EMS with a lift at 12:47 a.m. at W11949 497th, Prescott.
Deputies assisted EMS with a medical at 7:33 a.m. at N3788 150th, Plum City. A woman was transported to the hospital.
