Prescott, River Falls, Ellsworth, Spring Valley, Elmwood, Plum City information

The first weekend of the Wisconsin Baseball Association (WBA) is slated to take place at six sites throughout the state between Friday, Aug. 12, and Sunday, Aug. 14. Six teams from Pierce County will compete at five diuerent locations.
The Ellsworth Hubbers enter the WBA postseason as one of six host sites in Wisconsin. Ellsworth comes into the state playous as the #33 seed out of 36 total teams in the postseason tournament. The Hubbers will compete at home on Friday, Aug. 12, at 8 p.m. against the Minocqua Wood Ducks in the only Friday night contest.
If the Hubbers win, they will play on Sunday, Aug. 14, at noon against the Tony Hayshakers. If Ellsworth los- es that first game against Mi nocqua, the Hubbers will play on Saturday, Aug. 13, in Ells worth against the Hayshakers at 4 p.m.
Plum City travels to Haugen The Plum City Blues will travel to the Haugen playou site for their opening week- end of the WBA playous. The Blues enter the postseason with an 11-7 record which earned the #16 overall seed in the tournament.
In their first game of the weekend, the Blues will play the Spooner Cardinals on Saturday at noon. If the Blues win that game, they will play the La Crosse 35ers on Sun – day at 3 p.m. If the Blues lose that first game against the Cardinals, they will play on Saturday at 6 p.m. against the 35ers.
Spring Valley travels to Merrill The Spring Valley Hawks are the only Pierce County team traveling to the Merrill Regional. Spring Valley goes into the postseason with a 9-9 record and as the #26 seed in the overall tournament bracket.
The Hawks' first game is on Saturday at noon in Merrill against the Everest Merchants. If the Hawks win that game, they will play on Sun- day at 3 p.m. against the Eau Claire Cavaliers. If they lose that first game against the Merchants, the Hawks will play on Saturday at 6 p.m. against the Cavaliers.
Elmwood travels to Marshfield
The Elmwood Expos are in action this weekend at the Marshfield Regional. The Ex – pos enter the playous with a 10-8 record and as the #24 overall seed in Wisconsin for the postseason. The Expos will play the loser of the Wisconsin Rapids Redhawks vs. the Brill Millers on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Expos will then play the Wisconsin Rapids Red- hawks on Sunday at 3 p.m. The Redhawks enter the post-
season as the #1 overall seed in Wisconsin.
River Falls, Prescott play at River Falls Regional
Two Pierce County rivals will both compete in the River Falls Regional this weekend. The Fighting Fish will play at their host site and the Prescott Pirates from just down the road will also compete in the River Falls Regional.
The Fighting Fish enter the WBA postseason as the #5 overall seed in the state with a 15-3 record in league play this summer. The first game on the schedule for the Fish is on Friday at 7 p.m. against the Interwald Woodticks.
If the Fighting Fish win that game, they will play on Sunday at noon against Sparta Miller. If River Falls loses that first game, the Fish will play on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Sparta Miller.
The Prescott Pirates en- ter the postseason as the #10 overall seed in Wisconsin and have their first game sched uled against the loser of the Friday night game between the Chippewa Falls Lumberjacks and the La Crescent Cardinals. Prescott's first game will be played on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The Pirates’ second game will be on Sunday at 3 p.m. against the team that wins the Chippewa Falls and La Crescent contest on Friday night. Either way, Prescott will play both Chippewa Falls and La Crescent this weekend.
Each Regional host site will have pool play with two pools of three teams. On Sunday night, one team will emerge from each pool at each location. Two teams advance from each Regional site.
The two teams that advance from each regional will then compete in the WBA State playous the following weekend. More details have yet to be announced about those state finals.
