ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports
The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department June 20-27.
Monday, June 20
The warden took possession of a fox at 8:48 a.m. at 399 W. Elm St.
At 9:23 p.m., the motion activated lights were on at 557 Vincent Lane. A vehicle was parked outside, but no one was around and the doors were secure.
Tuesday, June 21
A resident at 181 Bay St. was told at 9:49 a.m. that police don’t relocate wild animals when he reported a raccoon on his property. He was told to leave it alone as it appeared to be healthy and living in a tree.
Police were called at 1:09 p.m. to Ellsworth High School (323 Hillcrest St.) for an incident between kids that resulted in a head injury. EMS responded.
Adam Lofquist, 47, Ellsworth, was arrested for a probation violation at 11 a.m. at 310 W. Main St.
At 3:39 p.m., someone just released from jail (555 W. Overlook Drive) took approximately 30 pills. PCSO took custody for a mental health evaluation.
At 5:15 p.m., a caller reported three juveniles in the area of Vincent Lane and Cairns Street throwing rocks at her car. Parents and kids were warned.
At 8:07 p.m., a complainant reported a woman who appeared to be held against her will by a man at 456 W. Main St. Contact was made with the parties, who said they were just hanging out and everything was fine. Wednesday, June 22
A caller reported vandalism at 6:15 a.m. at 707 N.
Maple St. Broken glass was found all over the parking lot; the complainant said it’s an ongoing issue.
At 7:57 a.m., an employee at BP (101 N. Maple St.) reported a gas drive-off totaling $275. A passenger entered the store and paid for water. An image of the suspect is on file.
At 1:09, 2:09 p.m., and 2:41 p.m., residents informed police of scam phone calls allegedly from Xcel Energy demanding payment over the phone for past due bills.
The number they provided was not a valid number. Xcel confirmed it was a scam. No personal information was provided to the scam callers.
Salas Sanchez, 30, Ellsworth, was arrested for OWI after a traffic stop at 9:07 p.m. at W7562 Highway 10, Ellsworth.
Thursday, June 23
Police responded to the 200 block of North Maple Street for a mental health emergency where a man ran into the woods. Northwest Connections responded and put a safety plan in place.
Friday, June 24
A post office (270 N. Maple St.) employee made an unwanted person complaint at 8:20 a.m. A man was loitering in the parking lot bothering people. The employee asked that he be removed.
A complainant called police at 10:20 a.m. to report a vehicle passenger pointing a gun at them and waving it out the window in the area of Piety Street and Panther Drive. Police located the car on County Road C and determined a young child had been playing with a toy gun.
Police checked on the motion activated lights at 10:45 p.m. at 579 Vincent Lane. All units and doors were secure.
Officers assisted Pierce County Sheriff’s Office at 11:15 p.m. at W7430 510th Ave., Ellsworth with a domestic.
Amy Jo Bishop, 42, Ellsworth, was arrested for a Minnesota warrant at 12:27 p.m. at 235 N. Maple St.
At 5:44 p.m., police responded to 181 E. Main St. for an animal complaint. The complainant stated she was there more than 10 minutes, next to a vehicle that had a dog inside with no window open and no water. The dog was in direct sunlight and panting hard. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.
At 10:28 p.m., a complainant at 793 N. Grant St. reported that a Jeep contain- ing three to five males sat outside his residence for 20 minutes waiting for him to come out and yelling profanities. The Jeep was not located.
Sunday, June 26
Police provided care to a man until EMS arrived at 2:24 a.m. in the 200 block of Broadway Avenue. The man had no identification and was unable to speak.
At 5:09 p.m., a complainant reported the traffic lights at Main and Maple were not changing. Police notified the highway department, but when they checked it out, the lights appeared to be cycling normally.
