ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports
The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department June 13-19.
Monday, June 13
At 3:42 p.m., a woman came to the police station to report she found her stolen dog. She told police when living in Arizona a year ago, her dogs had been stolen. She believed one of them, a St.
Bernard, was at a home down the street from her. She had no proof, just a “feeling.” She was advised to stay away from the property and asked to file a report with the proper Arizona authorities, who could in turn communicate with Ellsworth officers on the case. Officers assisted Pierce County deputies with a traffic stop at 10:16 p.m. at Highway 65 and County Road J and transported the subject’s dog to the village kennel.
Tuesday, June 14
At 4:51 p.m., a caller reported someone had stolen the lower grill piece from the front of a truck parked at 107 S. Wallace St.
A woman called police at 10:51 p.m. from the area of 388 W. Main St. and said someone was shining a laser at her. Police located no one in the area.
Wednesday, June 15
A woman flagged down an officer at 12:08 a.m. in the area of 414 W. Main St. because she thought she was being followed. Officers advised her to stay home for the remainder of the evening. She called police again at 1:40 a.m. because she thought a drone was following her near 358 W. Main St.
She said her stomach and head hurt and EMS transported her to the hospital.
At 8:16 a.m., a caller reported damage to the Free Little Library at Zion Covenant Church (210 Beulah St.)
She said due to constant book thefts, the library had been temporarily closed and a sign posted. Sometime in the past two days, someone had torn the sign down and damaged the door and stand.
A woman called the sheriff’s office at 6 p.m. from a residence in the 200 block of North Grant Street because she was upset about a court order. When an Ellsworth officer responded, she told them to leave because they harass her family. Later at the sheriff’s office, she was told the civil matter would need to be addressed in court.
Officers investigated a suspicious activity complaint at 6:50 p.m. at 598 W. Lucas Lane. A man said he was letting a juvenile practice driving. The juvenile had no permit or license, so both parties were warned.
Thursday, June 16
At 12:12 a.m., a woman called police to report her friend had left her at Holiday (456 W. Main St.) and she had no way to get home to Hastings. She was able to find an other friend to come pick her up.
Police checked on a large group of people at 1:51 a.m. at 455 E. Wall St. where they saw two men put a limp woman in a chair. She denied EMS and said she was just having fun.
Officers were asked to per form a welfare check at 1:21 p.m. on person slumped over the wheel in the driving lane at 157 E. Main St. The driver said they were just tired.
At 5:26 p.m., a caller at 260 E. Main St. reported damage to her mailbox. She noticed it around 4 p.m. There are no suspects.
A caller reported a suspicious person hanging around at 7:01 p.m. at the Pierce County Fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St.) When police arrived, they found no one matching the description.
A juvenile was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 10:43 p.m. at 670th Street and 580th Avenue. The officer clocked the vehicle going 69 mph in a 45-mph-zone.
Friday, June 17 Conner Bjork, 23, Ellsworth, was arrested for possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 12:46 a.m. at 670th Street and 580th Avenue for no front plate, rear tag lights not working and an illegal tinted license plate cover.
A woman called police at 4:51 a.m. from the area of the Ellsworth Public Library (312 W. Main St.) saying she had just seen her sex trafficker. She asked to speak to another officer as she did not trust the one who responded. She walked away from the officer, but soon called back asking for another officer. Police gave her information about an area shelter upon her request.
A woman called police again at 5:57 a.m. from the area of 159 W. Main St. She requested the number for an area shelter again, then requested EMS because her stomach hurt. EMS transported her to the hospital.
A caller reported a phone case theft at 10:33 a.m. at Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive). The phone was recovered but not the case. Police attempted to con- tact the suspect’s parents.
Officers were asked to speak to juveniles on scooters using the sidewalks at 10:49 a.m. at 412 W. Kinne St. The juveniles left.
A caller reported people in a vacant house at 10:44 p.m. at 257 N. Piety St. Officers spoke to Ellsworth firefighters, who were allowed to look at the home to purchase it.
Saturday, June 18
At 4:57 p.m., officers assisted Pierce County deputies with a crash at 610th Avenue and 670th Street.
Sunday, June 19
Officers spoke to a woman in the 400 block of East Wall Street who wanted to press charges on her family and seek a restraining order. She told police she wanted to take a polygraph to prove she’s in the right state of mind. She was provided resources.
