RIVER FALLS Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department May 10-17.

Tuesday, May 10

At 7:45 a.m., police received an election fraud complaint from the St. Croix County Sheriu's Ovce con cerning a convicted felon in River Falls who voted in the Nov. 3, 2020 election. Police made contact with the resident, who told police she didn't know she couldn't vote. The case is pending.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9:27 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street between a 2020 Volvo VNR semi tractor- trailer, driven by Brandon Christopher Radatz,

47, Cottage Grove, Minn., and a legally parked 2004 Ford F150, owned by Bruce M. Wingert, Maple Plain, Minn. Wingert was parked on the east side of Main Street facing north. Radatz was heading north on Main Street and as he passed Win- gert's truck, a hook on his trailer struck its driver's side mirror. Radatz was unaware of the contact and parked to make a delivery. A witness called the accident into police. Both vehicles had minor damage. Radatz wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

At 2:03 p.m., police were called to McDonald's (1505 Paulson Road) for a report of two people screaming at each other in the parking lot. Police made contact with one man who was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot. He said another man, later identified as Joshua Lee

Strohbusch, 43, River Falls, had confronted him over money owed and punched him several times. Police couldn't see any evidence that the man had been punched, but a witness backed up his story. Strohbusch told police he had confronted the man about $220 he had lent him April 14. He said he never punched him, but wanted to. Strohbusch was cited $187 for disorderly conduct.

Ovcers responded to a vehicle vs. post crash at 5 p.m. at Dick's Hometown Liquor (1141 S. Main St.) A 2017 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Gerald Ernest Neidermyer, 83, River Falls, was pulling away from the gas pump and didn't see the safety post by the gas pump.

He struck the post, causing minor damage to his front passenger side door. Neidermyer wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Wednesday, May 11

A 17-year-old Renaissance Academy student was cited $124 for habitual truancy on May 11. The student had been truant more than 20 times between Jan. 18 and May 6.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:21 p.m. at Cascade Avenue and Fifth Street between a 2007 Dodge Caravan, driven by Mark Steven Aufderhar,

52, Beldenville, and a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by Burton Lee Stogdill, 76, Bay City. Aufderhar stopped for a bicyclist crossing the street in the crosswalk and Stogdill rear-ended him. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Aufderhar and a 14-year-old passenger wore seat belts and reported no injuries. Stogdill wore a seat belt but complained of chest pain from the seat belt. He was transported to River Falls Area Hospital with suspected minor injuries. He was cited $124 for automobile following too closely.

Ovcers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:46 p.m. at Division and Winter streets between a 1984 Datsun 720, driven by Linus Joel Chaple, 21, St. Paul, and a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Jack William Milbauer, 23, River Falls. Chaple was traveling south on Winter Street, while Milbauer was heading east on Division Street. Chaple stopped at the stop sign at Division Street before proceeding across the intersection, but failed to yield. Milbauer was approaching from the west and struck the Datsun, causing it roll onto its driv- er's side. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Both drivers wore seat belts. EMS evaluated Chaple at the scene for neck pain, while Milbauer reported no injuries. Chaple was cited $98.80 for fail/yield right/ way from stop sign.

Thursday, May 12

At 12:03 a.m., police were called to 852 Brentwood Circle where a woman had run into a garage door with a vehicle and was believed to be intoxicated. When police arrived, the suspect was gone but the doors were sig- nificantly damaged, as was a vehicle parked inside. A man at the residence identi- fied the woman to police, his ex-wife who was upset about their split. He said she hadn't lived there in more than a year but arrived around 9:30 p.m. and knocked on the door, appearing intoxicated. At 11:55 a.m. the resident heard a loud noise and saw the vehicle pull out from under the garage door, which it had just struck, then drive forward and hit a second garage door. Both doors caved in and damaged the vehicles inside. Police later made con- tact with the suspect's family member in Hudson, who ad- mitted the suspect had taken the car because she was upset that her ex was “cheating” on her. The case is under review by the district attorney.

At 9:30 a.m., a 13-yearold Meyer Middle School student was cited $98.80 for habitual truancy. The student had been truant five days be tween March 28 and May 11.

Police responded at 7:09 p.m. to 838 Leroy Lane for an unresponsive man who had fallen and had blood coming from his mouth. CPR was performed for more than 30 minutes before the man was pronounced deceased.

Friday, May 13 Bryant Killibrew Sr., 51, homeless, was arrested without incident for an active St. Croix County failure to appear warrant at 7:50 a.m. at 708 N. Main St. He was tak en to St. Croix County Jail.

Saturday, May 14

At 1:08 a.m., a resident approached an ovcer in the Dairy Queen parking lot to report a bicycle theft. The theft had occurred around April 30 at 117 Church St. The bike was a green and black GT Timberline All Ter – ra mountain bike. He said he saw the bike outside of Mel's on May 1, but when he went to get it, it was gone.

Casey Lee Pengra, 21, River Falls, was arrested and cited $861 for OWI and $861 for operating with PAC after a travc stop for speeding at Main and Cedar streets.

During the travc stop, Pengra had bloodshot, glossy eyes and smelled heavily of intoxicants. He said he'd had three beers at Broz and was driving around looking for the next bar to go to. After failing field sobriety tests, he registered a 0.227 blood alcohol content level at the scene. He was transported to Pierce County Jail without incident.

Sunday, May 15

Ovcers were dispatched at 12:32 a.m. to a fight in progress inside Nutty Squir- rel (110 S. Main St.) The bar – tender identified the suspect as Cole James Borowicz, 31, River Falls. He had attempted to pay a $97 bar tab with a card, which was declined. He became belligerent and began yelling; he also pushed another bar pa- tron. Police found him walk ing in the alley and he denied being inside Nutty Squirrel; however, had left behind his phone and wallet. He was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping and disorderly conduct and transported to Pierce County Jail. He was also trespassed from Nutty Squirrel.

At 3:44 p.m., a caller re- ported heavy smoke coming from an apartment complex at 511 S. Wasson Lane. The apartment from which the smoke was coming was deadbolted, so the fire de partment had to force entry. The apartment was vacant, but there was smoke coming from the oven. The tenant returned and said she was moving out, but had set the oven to “self clean” mode. She had also left a pot filled with cleaner in the oven, that had a plastic handle which melted and started the fire. No other apartments were damaged.

A BP (700 N. Main St.) employee reported a $40 gas drive-ou at 4:06 p.m. and provided police with the vehicle and driver description and license plate number. The suspect was contacted and said she forgot to pay for the gas after she had put air in a tire. She said she'd re turn and pay for it, but never did. When police tried to call her back, the phone number was disconnected. The case is pending.

Tuesday, May 17 Megan R. LaMonto, 25, River Falls, was cited $98.80 for speeding on city highway after a travc stop at 12:34 a.m. at Main and Cedar streets. She and a passenger were also warned for possess drug paraphernalia and possession of THC after a vehicle search revealed a small pipe and a plastic baggie of marijuana.
