ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department May 9-15.

Monday, May 9

A gas drive-ou totaling $50.38 was reported at 2:47 p.m. at 176 W. Main St. The suspect vehicle is a white Volkswagen SUV.

A Samsung cell phone was found at 4:01 p.m. near Main and Grant streets. The screen was broken and the phone appeared to not be working. It was placed in the lost and found.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 5:47 p.m. in the 300 block of West Main Street between Kelly Fox, 40, Ellsworth, and Donna Swenson, 64, Ellsworth.

Swenson was traveling east on West Main Street, while Fox was traveling south from North Chestnut Street. Fox struck Swenson’s vehicle in the driver’s side rear quarter panel. Fox said she didn’t see Swenson’s vehicle prior to crossing the intersection.

Tuesday, May 10

Suspicious activity was reported at 1:19 a.m. at Ellsworth Elementary (445 N.

Piety St.) No people were present.

Luis Lozano Saca, 27, Ellsworth, was cited for operating without valid license (third) and operating motor vehicle without insurance af- ter a travc stop for speeding at 4:05 a.m. in the 600 block of East Main Street.

Jason Schellin, 53, Hudson, was arrested for operating while revoked after a travc stop at 12:29 p.m. at 176 W. Main St.

Chace Williams, 27, Ellsworth, was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping after police were called at 5:11 p.m. to 191 Evergreen Estates St. for an intoxicated person.

Police were called about a suspicious person at 7:21 p.m. at 359 E. Pleasant Ave. The suspect showed police a pellet gun.

Chace Williams, 27, Ellsworth, was arrested for a second time at 7:40 p.m. for domestic disorderly conduct at 191 Evergreen Estates St.

Wednesday, May 11

A juvenile driver was cited for speeding, possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia after a travc stop at 1:33 a.m. at Maple and Kinne streets for speeding 20-24 mph over the limit.

A gas drive-ou totaling $58.27 was reported at 1:29 p.m. at 176 W. Main St. Stau will review camera footage of the white car.

At 3:39 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle for failing to stop for a pedestrian at Main and Plum streets. The driver had a revoked driving status; police had them call someone for a ride.

Thursday, May 12

Police responded to a fire alarm at 12:01 p.m. at 141 S. Maple St. There was a problem with one of the fire alarm pulls. No smoke was observed.

At 4:11 p.m., a resident at 108 Evergreen Estates St. reported a missing license plate from an RV. The complainant couldn’t recall when she had last seen it and said she’d called the Minnesota DMV for a replacement.

Two Ellsworth High School students were cited at 11:09 p.m. for being truant from school April 21 through May 10.

Friday, May 13

At 12:02 p.m., police received a complaint about “loud and inappropriate music” coming from the high school track during the sixth- grade track meet. Ovcers advised middle school stau of the complaint.

Police were called at 10:17 p.m. about a group of juveniles “ding, dong, ditching” in the 700 block of North Grant Street. The complainant said at least five juveniles headed north on Grant Street. Police could not locate them.

Saturday, May 14

A caller reported a man at 12:03 p.m. for dumping a fertilizer spreader and other items in a dumpster at 144 S. Plum St. The suspect was warned.

A complainant reported seeing white smoke in the area of Terrace and Summit avenues at 3:16 p.m. The suspect was burning brush and pine needles and agreed to put the fire out. Police received a report of an intoxicated man hanging out in front of the high school at 7:18 p.m. When police arrived, the man smelled heavily of intoxicants and had slurred speech. He was at the park with his child. Police gave them a ride home and advised him to remain there for the evening.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:20 p.m. in the 300 block of West Church Street between Tanya Friesen, 38, Ellsworth, and Samantha Tufenk, 30, Ellsworth. Tufenk reported that she was traveling westbound on Church Street in her truck when a silver Honda Civic attempted to pass her, striking her driver’s side tire area. Tufenk had no damage to her truck, but the two exchanged information. Friesen left before police arrived.

Sunday, May 15 Rosalyn Stotmeister, 24, Hudson, was cited for speed- ing after a travc stop at 8:02 a.m. at Maple and Ray streets.

A Speedway manager called police at 3:49 p.m. requesting a man be trespassed from the property (176 W. Main St.) A man has been coming into the store, making a female employee uncomfortable. That day, he passed her a note explaining his feelings for her. The man was told if police are called again, he will be cited or arrested.

At 5:02 p.m., a man at 364 W. Hillcrest reported that his 2018 Outback camper was missing from his driveway.

Because it involved a family member, police informed him it was a civil matter.

At 11:22 p.m., police received an anonymous complaint about an intoxicated individual wearing a neck brace and heading westbound on Main Street on a bike. Police searched the area but found no one matching that description.
