ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Feb. 28 through March 6.

Monday, Feb. 28 Scott Allan Altenburg, 58, Ellsworth, was arrested for knowingly violate a domestic abuse order, battery or threat to judge/prosecutor or law enforcement officer, extradition, and resisting or obstructing an officer after police responded at 1:37 p.m. to 358 S. Piety St. for a domestic.

Tuesday, March 1

A complainant requested extra patrol at 4:35 p.m. in the 200 block of South Piety Street for a vehicle that was repeatedly driving by. A suspect was identified.

Ciro Romero, 20, Ellsworth, was cited for operating a vehicle without insurance and operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 7:35 p.m. at Main and Beebe streets.

Dylan Jungwirth, 18, Ellsworth, was arrested for theft after allegedly stealing a purse at 10:09 p.m. at 456 W. Main St.

Wednesday, March 2 Alan Sukowatey, 74, Spring Valley, was arrested at 9:29 a.m. at 310 W. Main St. for a probation violation.

Americo Lopez, 45, River Falls, was arrested at 10:10 a.m. at 310 W. Main St. for a probation violation.

Officers were called at 4:32 p.m. to Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive) for a student in possession of paraphernalia.

Gerald Wiggin, 75, St. Paul, was cited for operating a vehicle without insurance after a traffic stop at 6 p.m. near Main and Dar streets. Wiggin parked his car in the Midway lot and made arrangements for a ride.

Thursday, March 3 Connor O’Neil, 19, Ellsworth, was cited after a traffic stop at 12:50 p.m. at Church and Chestnut streets for a stop sign violation.

Police responded at 1:47 p.m. to Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive) for a report of found drug paraphernalia.

Officers were called at 7:56 p.m. to 504 W. Crosstown Road for an unwanted person involved in a custody dispute. The officer spoke with all parties involved.

At 8:19 p.m., a caller requested extra patrol at 185 W. Main St. (the old Tried & True location) because he’s noticed people looking in the windows, usually between 10-11 p.m. and 1-2 a.m. on weekends.

Friday, March 4

A resident in the 600 block of West Main Street reported to police at 11:27 a.m. that she was being harassed by several people via text. Police examined the texts and advised they couldn’t do anything because she was an active participant in the repeated conversations. The complainant was unhappy with the explanation. One of the other texters came to the police station with the same complaint and was also unhappy nothing could be done.

A complainant reported at 10:30 a.m. a man walking hunched over near Main and Plum streets. The man allegedly wore a sweatshirt, hat and backpack and appeared intoxicated. Police didn’t locate the man.

Saturday, March 5

Police responded at 12:03 a.m. to 453 S. Oak St. for a noise complaint. The caller said a truck at that address revved its engine and woke up children. People there said a person had just left, who was upset with an ex-girlfriend.

Officers were called at 3:59 a.m. to 463 E. Wall St., where a woman was found asleep on a toilet. The woman, identified as Chelsey Struemke, 33, Baldwin, was uncooperative when woken up. She was arrested for bail jumping and transported to Pierce County Jail.

At 11:47 a.m., a person turned in two debit cards they had found in front of the Midtown mall area. The owner, when contacted, no longer needed them and asked they be thrown out.

Officers assisted Pierce County deputies at 11:25 p.m. near County Road W and Highway 65 in attempting to locate a vehicle involved in a crash. They were not able to locate it.

Sunday, March 6

Police responded at 3:21 p.m. to Family Dollar (181 E. Main St.) for a shoplifter. The employee didn’t want the woman arrested, but requested she be trespassed from the store. The suspect was told if she returned, she would be arrested.
