The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Jan. 17-23.

Monday, Jan. 17

Police investigated suspicious activity at 6:32 p.m. at Summit Park (100 W. Grove St.) Two parked cars were idling in the lot. One was unoccupied; people were talking in the other.

Officers responded at 8:58 p.m. to 540 W. Cairns St. for an unwanted person who said he was going to kick the door down. He fled before police arrived.

Tuesday, Jan. 18

An upset homeowner called police at 1:34 p.m. in regards to a tree service that dropped part of a tree on his property at 281 S. Maple St.

Wednesday, Jan. 19

Post office (270 N. Maple St.) staff requested extra patrol at 12:41 p.m. because they’ve been finding a man sleeping in the lobby at night. They will be locking the lobby doors for a time at night.

Officers assisted Pierce County Sheriff’s Office with an OWI traffic stop at 6:05 p.m. at 229 W. Main St.

At 6:02 p.m., a complainant reported the neighbor’s dog getting loose in the 400 block of West Highland Drive and getting into a fight with her dog. Neither dog had injuries, but the loose dog’s owner was warned for animal-at-large.

Thursday, Jan. 20

A complainant reported suspicious activity at 10:12 a.m. near 591 N. Maple St. A woman told police she and another person were looking for missing Apple watch that had pinged its location to that address.

A woman reported a cat bite at 12:12 p.m. at 428 Railroad Ave. She told police a stray cat that has been hanging around her house bit her in the back of her right leg when she was outside. She reported it also bit her on Dec. 27 and Dec. 30; each time the bite was hard enough to draw blood. She said she’d try to capture the cat and call police to have it taken away.

A resident in the 300 block of East Pleasant Avenue reported fraud at 2:32 p.m. Someone had gained access to several accounts and made purchases to be shipped to a Miami, Fla., address.

Police responded to a domestic incident at 9:52 p.m. at 183 Evergreen Estates where a man and woman were fighting over the wifi. The woman was apparently trying to sleep, so shut off the wifi. Both parties agreed to separate for the night.

Friday, Jan. 21 Clive Brookshaw, 17, Ellsworth, reported to police at 3:56 p.m. that he had hit a slick spot and entered the ditch at 490th Avenue and Hilden Drive. His vehicle had no damage and a friend pulled him out of the ditch.

Due to weather conditions, an officer gave a homeless man a courtesy ride at 6:52 p.m. to a homeless shelter in Red Wing from Just Ka’s (325 W. Main St.)

Saturday, Jan. 22

An anonymous complainant waved down an officer at 2:12 a.m. in the 100 block of North Maple Street to report someone waving a flashlight around on Kinne Street. Police located and identified the suspect, who said he was “just traveling.”

Sunday, Jan. 23

A resident requested extra patrol at 11:15 a.m. in the 200 block of South Piety Street.

A vehicle theft was reported at 7:35 p.m. at Just Ka’s (325 W. Main St.) The complainant said she parked her vehicle in the lot at 4:45 p.m. and when she returned to it at 7:35 p.m., it was gone. Police are reviewing video footage.
