ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to the Ellsworth Police Department Nov. 2228.

Monday, Nov. 22’

Police responded to an alarm at 456 W. Main St. at 2:39 a.m. Everything appeared secure. At 3:06 a.m., police checked on a vehicle near Bay and Main streets in which two people were sleeping. The vehicle smelled of intoxicants; the driver said he’d planned to sleep at the house in front of which he’d parked. Police advised him not to drive and to sleep in the house.

Anthony J. Piel, 34, Ellsworth, was arrested at 8:16 a.m. at 310 W. Main St. for a probation violation.

At 8:53 p.m., a resident in the 1300 block of Debra Street reported flashlights being shined in his windows. Police checked the area but found no one. The complainant said sometimes he sees lights outside the windows. Police said they’d provide extra patrol.

Tuesday, Nov. 23

At 8:17 a.m., a wallet was found on the roadway in the 1000 block of Southgate Drive. It was returned to its owner.

Police responded at 5:01 p.m. to 359 W. Main St., where a juvenile was making employees nervous. Police sent the juvenile on their way.

Officers removed a large wooden frame from the roadway at 9:52 p.m. at North Grant and West Kinne streets.

At 11:22 p.m., a green Ford Escape was speeding near East Main and South Dar streets, seemingly avoiding a squad car. The officer lost the suspect vehicle near Main and Grant streets.

Wednesday, Nov. 24

A woman at 429 W. Wayne St. called police at 1:15 a.m. and said she’d been missing for a few days and didn’t know where she’d been. Staff reported she had been there the whole time.

At 8:54 a.m., police assisted Pierce County deputies with a traffic stop at W7085 410th Ave.

At 8:48 p.m., a resident at a residence in the 400 block of Cairns Street reported a family member had thrown a Nerf gun at a juvenile, causing harm.

At 11:55 p.m., police responded to 455 E. Wall St., where a man had fallen and hit his head. He denied EMS and was able to answer the officer’s questions.

Thursday, Nov. 25

Police checked on a suspicious vehicle at 12:23 a.m. at Summit Park (100 W. Grove St.) The driver was talking to his girlfriend before he went home after work.

Officers saw a small black and white dog wandering around behind Ellsworth Middle School around 12:45 p.m. They attempted to catch the dog, but couldn’t. It was last seen near the swimming pool.

Friday, Nov. 26

At 8:50 a.m., a fire alarm went off at 429 W. Wayne St. Staff said someone burned a muffin in the microwave and everything was fine.

At 10:22 p.m., police found an abandoned vehicle parked in the middle of Highway 65 near West Overlook Drive. Police made contact with the registered owner, who said a friend was trying to fix it and test drive it. The vehicle was towed.

Sunday, Nov. 28

At 12:18 a.m., police responded to 112 Evergreen Estates St. for an argument between two men. The fight never became physical and the parties separated for the night.

Anna M. Amundson, 28, Minneapolis, was cited for speeding after radar clocked her going 51 mph in a 30mph-zone at 3:08 p.m. near East Main and Broadway streets.
