The Prescott Community Club Student of the Week for Jan. 15 is Prescott High School freshman Benjamin Barker, nominated by science teacher Cameron Meyers.

“I chose Ben as he is a great student, a leader in the classroom, and a role model for others around him,” Meyers said. “Ben isn’t afraid to ask questions if he is confused about something. When he sees other students around him struggling with a concept he will go over and help them (oftentimes explaining a concept in a way that works better for those students than what I could think of). Ben is always respectful towards others, himself, and his environment. He picks up after himself if he makes a mess. If he makes a mistake, he corrects it and perseveres through, he doesn’t shut down. Ben has an incredible amount of resilience, respect, and forward thinking for a freshman.”

Benjamin is the son of Joe & Krista Barker. He participates in football, swimming and the school musical. He also teaches swimming lessons and enjoys playing video games. He hopes to graduate college one day.

The Prescott Community Club Student of the Week for Jan. 22 is Prescott High School sophomore Andrew Henrich, nominated by social studies Jeff Ryan.

“Andrew has been doing a tremendous job all year in Advanced Placement United States History,” Ryan said. “Polite, respectful, and affable, Andrew is an outstanding school citizen. His work in class has consistently been exemplary and his attitude has been wonderful. He consistently participates in classroom discussion and debate and is a definite asset in the social studies classroom. I am confident the success he has experienced in AP United States History will continue for the duration of the school year.”

Andrew is the son of Amy Henrich and Scott Henrich. He is a member of the trap, baseball, basketball and cross country teams. He also enjoys reading and playing video games. He plans to attend college and do something with math in the future.
