The Prescott Kiwanis Student of the Week for Jan. 18 is senior Sydney Magee, nominated by PHS science teacher Matt Rankin.
“There are not many students that have put in the amount of effort or demonstrated more fortitude in the pursuit of knowledge and excellence than Sydney,” Rankin said. “She has always risen to every challenge put before with an, at times, obsessive determination to get every bit of useful information out of that experience. Her drive to constantly improve, grow and never stagnate is both frightening and admirable. Sydney will be a force to be reckoned with in any future endeavors she chooses to pursue. Congratulations Sydney, I look forward to seeing you find and explore your passions moving forward.”
Sydney is the daughter of Christopher and ReAnna Magee. She volunteers at St. Joseph Parish and School and works at Twisted Oak and Caribou Coffee in Prescott. The honor roll student also participates in volleyball, track, the National Honor Society and the school musical. She enjoys music, both singing and playing the piano.
She plans to attend UW-Madison next year to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
