PRESCOTT – There’s an open spot on the ballot for the spring election in Prescott, and Mayor Rob Daugherty put out word seeking someone to run for the office.
The city council needs a representative for Ward 4, which is between Highway 10 on the north and Walnut Street on the south and Campbell Street on the East and Dexter Street on the west.
Darylyn Hintz is seeking re-election to the council for the Ward 3 seat, also on the ballot. Hintz held an at-large seat previously. Thomas Oss is not able to seek re-election, as the city underwent redistricting in 2021, and Oss now resides in Ward 2.
A new candidate can register as a write-in at city hall.
“We still have an open Ward 4 position for city council. Nobody from Ward 4 has come forward. It would be really nice if somebody would,” Daugherty said at the close of the city council meeting Feb. 13.
The spring election will be held April 4.
