RIVER FALLS – Among Friends is once again improving people’s lives. The social respite program, serving people experiencing memory loss and those over 60 who have physical challenges, re-opened in October and welcomes new participants. The program offers its services on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Open to all residents of Pierce and St. Croix counties, Among Friends is located at 110 N. Third St. in River Falls, in a wonderful space in the First Congregational Church building.
Among Friends provides a safe, supportive, and stimulating atmosphere for participants, who enjoy music, gentle exercise, crafts, cooking, games, conversation, and nutritious snacks and lunches. These activities are supervised by an onsite paid staff member and trained volunteers. Knowing that their loved ones are safe at Among Friends allows caregivers to refresh themselves and engage in activities important to them.
For more information, call Among Friends at 715-293-2561 or visit the website at www.amongfriendsrf.com.
If you are interested in joining our group of dedicated volunteers, please contact us to arrange training. Among Friends welcomes those who can help with participants’ daily activities: artists, musicians, dancers, bakers, talkers, drivers, anyone with a skill or talent to bring to the program. Please call 715-293-2561 for more information.
