A River Falls man in possession of several child pornography videos is facing several felony charges in both Pierce and St. Croix counties.

Andrew Scott Kirton, 20, posted a $10,000 signature bond July 17 in Pierce County Circuit Court on six felony possession of child pornography charges. Each count carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison and/or fines up to $100,000.

According to the complaint:

On March 13, a St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office investigator notified River Falls police they had received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children related to possession of child pornography. The report contained a video of a prepubescent male being sexually assaulted. The images had been downloaded to a Google account from an IP address in rural Hammond.

The owner of the Google Drive account to which the images were downloaded was Kirton, who had used his parent’s internet. Deputies arrested Kirton on March 28 near Roberts. During an interview, Kirton admitted to possessing child pornography on his cell phone and computer, located at his River Falls apartment.

A search warrant was executed at 950 S. Main St., Apt. 12 by River Falls police, SCSO and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations at 8 a.m. March 28. Two computer hard drives and an SD card were seized. DCI located 11 child porn videos and photos on the hard drives, some of which contained images of adults raping children.

Kirton is slated to appear in Pierce County Circuit Court at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 21 for a preliminary hearing. He is also facing two possession of child pornography charges in St. Croix County.
