A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a River Falls man who missed a court appearance related to felony theft charges.

Pierce County Circuit Court Judge Elizabeth Rohl issued the warrant after Patrick Wolf Davila, 34, failed to show up for an Aug. 25 initial appearance on felony take and drive vehicle without consent, felony theft – movable property – special facts and felony bail jumping. If convicted, Davila faces a maximum penalty of six years in prison and/or fines up to $10,000.

According to the complaint:

River Falls police were dispatched at 8:50 p.m. April 28 to 125 ½ Main St. for a vehicle theft. A business owner reported his silver 2019 GMC Acadia had been stolen sometime between 8:15-8:30 p.m. The vehicle’s keys had been left in front of the center console and the vehicle was unlocked. He had called around to see if anyone he knew borrowed the vehicle and no one had.

Officers contacted OnStar, which was able to track the vehicle driving in Eden Prairie, Minn., pulling into a Papa Murphy’s Pizza off Breezy Way. The vehicle went on the move again and parked somewhere near Pioneer Trail and Hennepin Pine Road. Eden Prairie police found the vehicle with a lone occupant inside while OnStar placed an engine block on the vehicle, which prevented it from starting again after it was shut off.

Eden Prairie police identified the vehicle’s occupant as Davila. They also located a brown Glock 43x firearm during his arrest. The gun didn’t belong to the vehicle owner.

Police spoke to Davila’s father, who said Davila had shown up at his house while he was sleeping. He didn’t know where he went after that, but knew he’d been released from somewhere earlier in the day and was supposed to go to a facility somewhere in Minnesota but never showed.

At 10:21 a.m. May 9, River Falls police were dispatched to C&R Guns Store (117 E. Pine St.) for a gun theft. The store owner and an employee said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms had contacted them after doing a firearm trace and discovering a gun was not at his store when it was supposed to be.

The Block 43X 9mm handgun had been sitting in a case on the store’s glass counter along with three magazines and a speed loader, a prize for a raffle winner. The raffle winner applied for the gun and a background check on April 17 but hadn’t picked the gun up yet. That was the last time anyone saw the gun, which was later found in with Davila. The employee, when shown a photo of Davila, remember him being in the store before the gun went missing.

Davila is also charged with felony take and drive vehicle without consent in a Richland County case.
