The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department Sept. 2-7.
Friday, Sept. 2
At 3:25 p.m., a resident at 259 Kusilek St. reported her driver’s license had been stolen from her vehicle.
Saturday, Sept. 3
Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:37 p.m. in the parking lot of 1567 Sullivan Court between a 2019 Ford F150, driven by Sean M. Sellergren, 42, River Falls, and a legally parked 2011 Buick Lacrosse, owned by Kara M. Jandro, St. Michael, Minn. Sellergren struck the rear driver’s side corner of Jandro’s vehicle, which was parked in a parking spot at Aldi’s. Sellergren left the area and parked in a different part of the lot. He eventually admitted to striking Jandro’s vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage; no one reported any injuries.
Khari Quintrail Wilson,
33, St. Paul, was cited $187 for possession of THC after a traffic stop for no license plate at 6:08 p.m. at Highway 65 and North Main Street. The officer smelled marijuana when she pulled Wilson over.
Monday, Sept. 5
Officers responded at 8:15 p.m. to Holiday (302 S. Main St.) for a theft. Two juveniles approached the sole employee and told him they had broken a glass bottle. When he went to check on the broken glass, the went behind the counter and took numerous tobacco products, then fled toward the 100 block of Spring Street. The products totaled $99.89.
Tuesday, Sept. 6
At 8:24 a.m., police were notified of a hit-and-run crash that had taken place in the River Falls High School parking lot on Sept. 1 between 2:50 and 5 p.m. An unknown vehicle either attempted to pull in or back out of a parking stall and struck a 2014 GMC Terrain, owned by Cassie Lynn Erickson, River Falls. The vehicle had functional damage. A First National Bank of River Falls customer reported fraud at 1:25 p.m. She said a man named Karl Blige had cashed a $4,000 fraudulent check at a Wells Fargo in Minneapolis from her account. The case is under investigation.
Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash at 1:43 p.m. at Kwik Trip (1238 N. Main St.) A Toyota Tacoma, driven by a blond woman in her 30s, backed into a parked 2020 Chevrolet Express, owned by Pump & Meter Services, Inc.
Driver Benjamin Bruce Bejin, 42, Chippewa Falls, was in the Express at the time. The woman drove north on Main Street after striking the Chevy. Both vehicles had minor damage, as remnants of a back light from the Tacoma were left behind. Bejin reported no injuries. Kwik Trip employees said the woman is a regular customer; her photo will be posted at the counter.
At 2:37 p.m., a caller reported vandalism/graffiti to a mailbox at 237 Broadway St. The spray-painted “GH8” was found on Aug. 31.
Officers responded to a verbal domestic at 4:52 p.m. at 1450 Wasson Lane where a man was screaming and throwing potato chips. Angel Ignacio Alatorre, 33, River Falls, was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation hold and taken to Pierce County Jail. They were arguing over Alatorre’s probation visit the next day.
Wednesday, Sept. 7 Police were called at 8:19 a.m. to 1200 S. Main St. for a shoplifting complaint. A man had taken two drinks, placed them in a cooler bag and left the store without paying for them. Through surveillance footage, the suspect was tracked down at his job, at Green Oasis (N8232 945th St., River Falls). Scott Michael Ziemek, 27, Ellsworth, admitted to the theft and said he didn’t have any money but needed something to drink as it gets hot outside. He was cited $187 for retail theft – intentionally take and trespassed from Kwik Trip.
Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 10:26 a.m. at Main Street and Powell Avenue between a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Connor Vencel Olson, 22, Willmar, Minn., and a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Mary Catherine Langer, 77, River Falls. Olson was attempting to turn left out of the parking lot at 1050 N. Main St., while Langer was heading south on Main Street. Olson said he didn’t see Langer and struck her when he turned. Olson’s vehicle had functional damage, while Langer’s was towed due to disabling damage. Neither driver reported injuries and wore a seat belt. Olson was cited $98.80 for fail/yield emerging from non-highway access.
A woman reported vandalism to her vehicle at 4:05 p.m. While driving on West Division Street past Westside Elementary, she heard a loud bang on her vehicle. She pulled over and saw a group of kids next to the fence. A rock was on the ground and her driver’s side rear door was damaged. Three fourth graders eventually admitted to throwing rocks and cars and their parents were notified.
