The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department Aug. 9-12, 2025.

Saturday, Aug. 9

  • Officers responded to a slashed tire complaint at 11:58 p.m. at 1470 Cemetery Road. Neighbors reported hearing a loud popping noise at the time the damage is believed to have occurred. They also saw a man walking through the parking lot at that time. The victim identified two possible suspects; city traffic cameras confirmed one of them in the area at the time of the damage. Damien Alexander Schwartz, 32, South St. Paul, Minn., was cited $250 for criminal damage to property, though he denied any involvement in slashing the tire.
  • Police were dispatched to a welfare check at 7:58 p.m. at Kwik Trip (1536 Cemetery Road) for a man slumped over behind the wheel of a running vehicle who was not responding to KT staff. The vehicle had struck a pole in front of the parking stall. Police were ablet to wake Ryan Keith McNamara, 43, River Falls, who had bandaged arms. He had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He told police he had taken Methadone earlier that morning but denied drinking alcohol. He said his arms were bandaged from injecting drugs, so EMS arrived to evaluate him. They transported him to RF Area Hospital, afraid he was overdosing. After conducting field sobriety tests at the hospital, police arrested and cited McNamara $986 for OWI. A breath test revealed a result of .000. McNamara had been arrested for OWI five days prior in Hudson, when officers found him passed out in a vehicle in a traffic lane. After a blood draw and booking, McNamara was released to his mother.

  • Officers responded at 7:18 a.m. to Kwik Trip (1536 Cemetery Road) for a man who stole a bottle of wine. He put a bottle of Barefoot Moscato, costing $5.99, in his pants and walked out the door. A suspect was identified from his license plate.
  • Jason Allen Williams, 54, Ellsworth, was trespassed from Kwik Trip (1536 Cemetery Road) after employees informed police at 7:18 a.m. of an incident that took place July 26. Williams allegedly went into a back room to yell at employees about cutting the bottom off his brownies. He appeared to be drunk and kicked the kitchen door open. He told employees he could go wherever he wanted in the store and became aggressive. When an employee confronted him about the incident a couple days later, he became belligerent and repeatedly swore at employees. When police talked to him, he said he was angry that the bottom wasn’t sticking on his brownies and he accused employees of putting hair in them. When the officer suggested a calmer approach, he swore at the officer and hung up on him. A disorderly conduct charge was forwarded to the district attorney’s office.
  • Police responded to a report of multiple vehicles being egged at 11:01 a.m. near Devin Lane and Cemetery Road. Four juvenile suspects were named by victims due to prior conflicts. One resident had video footage of a vehicle driving by their residence at 2:05 a.m. and pings from eggs hitting vehicles could be heard on the video. The case remains under investigation.
  • Officers were dispatched at 11:51 to dog bite that had happened the night before at 7:40 p.m. at 1654 Valley Quail Drive. A father said his daughter’s bite was bleeding again so they were heading to Urgent Care. His daughter had been running on the sidewalk near the above address when a dog left its property through a broken screen door and bit her on the leg. The dog’s owner said the dog had escaped while her daughters were bringing groceries into the house. The dog was subject to a 10-day quarantine. The dog had bitten someone else in 2019, but the owner denied the dog having any aggression toward people.
  • Police responded to a possible domestic at 7:21 p.m. to 1769 Windflower St. Through an open 911 call police could hear a couple arguing and a child crying in the background. The argument stemmed from a social media pregnancy announcement from the man’s mother about the couple. The man admitted to throwing his phone in frustration. The woman’s sister arrived to pick her up and the two separated for the evening. A domestic disorderly conduct charge was forwarded to the district attorney’s office for the man.

Monday, Aug. 11

  • Officers were dispatched at 2:16 a.m. to a disturbance involving trespassing at 218 W. Charlotte St. A 79-year-old man was having trouble explaining what happened and changed his story three times. He said an unknown man entered his apartment and demanded money. He thought the man was a statue at first, he said, but realized it was a person. He retreated into the bathroom and called 911. He described the man as tall, muscular with darker skin, possibly of Italian descent, with a light brown mustache and beard. He said he didn’t know the man, who soon left the apartment. Police searched the building but found no one fitting the description. The man claimed the incident took place 45 minutes before he called 911, but then gave police a time that was eight hours prior. Dispatch said the caller had trouble answering questions and appeared to be confused.
  • Police responded at 7:51 a.m. to Trelleborg (434 Highland Drive) where two syringes had been found, along with two missing tourniquets from the first aid kit. A suspect was identified and his probation officer notified.
  • Americo Marcus Lopez, 48, River Falls, was arrested and cited $250 for operating after revocation (alcohol related) after a traffic stop at 8 a.m. at Foster Street and Bartosh Lane. He was taken to Pierce County Jail without incident.

Tuesday, Aug. 12

  • Police were notified of an assault at 4:37 a.m. at 1463 Riverside Drive. Officers found an 18-year-old man laying in the driveway with a swollen, bruised face, bloody nostrils, small cuts and scrapes. He said his attackers had stomped on his head. He told officers he’d been with a group to celebrate his brother’s birthday where a fight had broken out between two other males. He attempted to break up the fight, which spilled out into the yard of 1495 Riverside Drive. As he fought one man, another man jumped in and started attacking him as well. Other party patrons fled the scene in two vehicles, the victim said. While talking to police, he vomited several times and struggled with details. He said at one point he thought had gun had been used to threaten him. EMS transported him to Regions Hospital with severe injuries while police tracked down one suspect at a home in the 400 block of Kennedy Street. They searched a vehicle (with the owner’s permission) and located an AR style shotgun, 15 shotgun shells. The suspect, Jacob Lee Harris, 18, River Falls, claimed he fought the victim in self-defense after his friends, including Amon Timothy Hodges, 18, River Falls, picked him and brought him back to the party to confront the victim about an alleged racial slur used while breaking up the fight. He had bruising around his left eye and skin ripped off his middle finger. He also claimed the victim bit him when he put him in a headlock. Officers arrested Harris for substantial battery – intend bodily harm and misdemeanor bail jumping and transported him to St. Croix County Jail. Multiple witnesses confirmed the victim had tried to break up a fight between Hodges and another male, and that Hodges later returned to the party with Harris demanding to fight the victim outside, who said he felt he didn’t have a choice. They didn’t believe the gun had been used in the confrontation. The victim was able to get away from the pair and asked a neighbor to call police. A substantial battery – intend bodily harm charge was forwarded to the district attorney’s office for Hodges.
