The following incidents were reported to River Falls Polce Department Feb. 2-12, 2026.

Monday, Feb. 2

Police spoke to a woman at 1:52 p.m. who wanted her daughter, Brandalyn Williams, 27, listed as missing. Officers learned that Minneapolis police had already entered her as missing; the woman contacted RFPD because her daughter may have gone to TurningPoint for assistance and she hasn’t heard from her in a couple of months. She is believed to be traveling with her children.

Tuesday, Feb. 3

  • At 10:39 a.m., police conducted a welfare check at Coratel Inn & Suites (1207 St. Croix St.) on a 60-year-old woman. She said she was trying to arrange to stay another night because she had nowhere else to go. She had been involved in a scam which resulted in the loss of $4,400. Police spoke to her family members, who had pitched in money so she could stay at the hotel for another week. The ADRC was also informed of her plight.
  • At 12:45 p.m., police were dispatched to 1470 Cemetery Road for a report of slashed tires. The vehicle owner told police she suspected a neighbor that she has had issues with. Each passenger side tire had a puncture in its sidewall. Police interviewed the suspect, who denied causing the damage. The case was closed due to lack of evidence.
  • Police were informed of a hit and run at 1:50 p.m. that occurred the day before near Winter Street and Winter Court. An unknown vehicle had struck the front driver’s side corner of a legally parked 2009 Honda Civic, owned by Leslie E. Jensen, River Falls. The Honda had moderate damage. The driver of the second vehicle didn’t leave behind information.
  • Officers were notified of a one-vehicle crash at 3:11 p.m. that occurred at 11:29 a.m. Feb. 1 at Foster Street and Meadowbrook Lane. A 2021 Wstr Convention snowplow, driven by city employee Nathan Joseph Herum, 41, River Falls, was reversing when it struck a city-owned light pole with its passenger side plow wing. The truck had no damage. No injuries were reported.
  • Dunn County Sheriff’s Office reported at 10:43 p.m. that they were investigating a missing person’s report concerning a 70-year-old River Falls man. The man’s son said his dad had left River Falls at 11 a.m. to go to his hunting land in Dunn County to perform maintenance and hadn’t been heard from since, which is unlike him. Dunn County officers went to the hunting land but saw no tire tracks or footprints. His phone last pinged south of Woodville off I-94. It later pinged near Beldenville. The man returned home safe and sound.

Wednesday, Feb. 4

Police were dispatched at 5:20 p.m. to 1450 S. Wasson Lane #53 for a break-in. Security footage showed a man and woman approaching the front door and trying to open it at 5:05 p.m. The woman was a former roommate with a no contact order in place. Police forwarded two felony bail jumping charges for Beckianne Therese Roberts, 35, River Falls, to the district attorney’s office.

Thursday, Feb. 5

  • Officers were dispatched at 9:16 a.m. to 625 N. Main St. for a deceased 70-year-old woman found in her bed. Housing Authority staff had last seen her on Jan. 26 when she asked them to reschedule an inspection because she wasn’t feeling well. The medical examiner believed she died due to diabetes and heart issues about a week prior. Her family was notified.
  • Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 3:43 p.m. at Bowen’s Garage (405 S. Main St.) between a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Cody Thomas Schwalbe, 24, Ellsworth, and a 2014 Hyundai Veloster, driven by Lonny W. Sylte, 70, River Falls. Sylte was waiting to enter Main Street when Schwalbe backed into his vehicle. The Dodge had minor damage while the Hyundai had moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
  • At 4:38 p.m., police received a report from a River Falls High School (818 Cemetery Road) who stated that another student had threatened to bring a gun to school, shoot them and harvest their organs to sell to Native Americans. Police responded to the suspect’s residence at 5:20 p.m. The boy admitted to making the threat after the other student took a volleyball from him and threw it to another part of the gym, then hit him in the head with a ping pong paddle. He said he was joking but had not made the harvesting organs comment. The boy’s parents had to show police proof that their guns were locked in a safe out of reach of anyone. Police, after speaking to witnesses, deemed the threat non-credible.

Friday, Feb. 6

  • Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 10:23 a.m. at Maple and Falls streets between a 2010 Toyota Camry, driven by Blake David Richardson Mahre, 25, River Falls, and a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Jason Anderson, 53, River Falls. Mahre said he was traveling south on Falls Street and stopped at the stop sign. He didn’t see Anderson heading east on Maple and collided with him in the intersection. Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported; one vehicle’s airbags were deployed. Mahre was cited $111.40 for failure to yield right of way.
  • At 10:28 a.m., a 28-year-old River Falls resident and his father went to the police station to report fraudulent activity stemming from 2021 to present. The man said his college friend had defrauded him of an estimated $50,000 over the years by getting him involved in business ideas that never seemed to become successful, including cleaning businesses, a taxi company in El Salvador, a T-shirt business, a car repair business and more. The victim purchased a car, tools and made payments for years for business insurance his friend claimed they needed. He also worked for his friend’s cleaning company for years without getting paid; his friend kept claiming that other contractors were not paying their bills. The victim provided audio recordings, bank transactions and other proof of the ongoing fraud. The case remains under investigation.
  • Police were dispatched at 12:29 p.m. to River Falls High School (818 Cemetery Road) for a student disturbance. A 16-year-old girl was being sent home after threatening to fight other students. While waiting for her mother, staff showed police a water bottle they’d located in the girl’s locker that smelled of alcohol. The girl said other girls had been teasing her and her older sister for about six months. They had confronted her sister in the bathroom, banging on her stall door and making comments. The girl said she was sick of it and made a comment to the girls in the hallway. She denied having a water bottle with alcohol but registered a 0.076 Breathalyzer test. She denied drinking at school and said she’d been drinking coffee. She said she might have drank before school. She was cited $98.80 for underage drinking and suspended from school for three days.
  • At 12:45 p.m., police received a fraud complaint from a resident at 1150 N. Main St. A woman said she had applied for a loan through Lending USA on Jan. 29. She provided her bank information to a man claiming to work for the company. Three deposits totaling $1,351,80 were made to her account; the man told her it was an error and that she had to return the money via Walmart. Two more deposits showed up in her bank account totaling $2,901.64. She did as she was told and sent money back via Walmart. The bank had no way of recovering the funds. In total, she lost more than $4,000. She was advised to report the incident to ic3.gov
  • At 4:38 p.m., police responded to a home in the 200 block of West Johnson Street for an out-of-control juvenile who was damaging property and kicking holes in the walls. The juvenile said he became angry when he couldn’t defeat a level on Clash Royale on his phone. Police advised the parents to seek therapy for their son and spoke with him about his actions and potential consequences.
  • Police were dispatched to a theft complaint at 9:49 p.m. at 104 ½ S. Third St. A man found his vehicle’s trunk open and his vehicle registration papers missing. There are no suspects.
  • Officers arrested Seth Michael Westover, 37, River Falls, for a felony failure to appear warrant at 10:23 p.m. at 537 E. Maple St. He was taken to Pierce County Jail without incident.

Saturday, Feb. 7

  • At 7:06 a.m. Feb. 25, a property manager for 237 Broadway St. notified police that several tenants’ vehicles had been gone through during the night of Feb. 7 and one was missing $30 in change. The theft occurred at roughly 12:18 a.m. that night, according to video surveillance. The suspect is a white male, between the ages of 18-24 years old, medium length blonde hair, average build, wearing a white or light grey UMD sweatshirt, dark grey or black pants, and white with black strip tennis shoes. They were last seen going into MacMillan Hall on campus.
  • At 5:53 p.m., police were dispatched to Carbone’s Pizza (1025 S. Main St.) for an assault. Thirty minutes prior to the call, a man had thrown a pizza pan containing cheese bread at a co-worker, leaving a bruise. The two had been discussing vehicles and the complainant called the suspect stupid. The suspect, a 36-year-old River Falls man, left he restaurant after throwing the pan. He admitted to losing his temper and was fired. No charges were filed.
  • Karis Clare Nesbitt, 19, Dexter, Minn., was cited $187 for possession of THC after a traffic stop for driving without headlights at 11:01 p.m. at Main and Church streets. The vehicle smelled of marijuana. Inside, police found multiple joints, a sealed Mike’s Hard Lemonade and 41 sealed bottles and 12 sealed cans of Yuengling’s Hersey’s Chocolate Porter. Police confiscated and disposed of them.
  • Police provided mutual aid to UWRF police at 11:16 p.m. at Grimm Hall (750 E. Cascade Ave.) A 16-year-old female was highly intoxicated and registered a 0.189 BAC. She didn’t know what city she was in, and university staff said she is not a student there but may have been staying with a resident student. Police could not immediately locate contact information for her parents. EMS transported her to River Falls Area Hospital.

Sunday, Feb. 8

  • During routine patrol at 2:33 a.m. at Hoffman Park (547 Hanson Drive), police spotted Ryan John Pierson, 20, Butterfield, Minn., walking through the park after hours. Pierson was distraught and drunk. He thought he was walking toward his dorm, but he was going the wrong way. He was also carrying an Aquaphor bottle. He registered a 0.170 on a Breathalyzer. Police cited him $187 for underage drinking and gave him a courtesy ride home.
  • Cole Steven Schwarzbauer, 19, River Falls, was cited $124 for exhibition of power after a traffic stop at Cascade Avenue and Main Street. As he was turning the corner, he revved his engine, squealed his tires and fishtailed in an area busy with pedestrian protesters and congested traffic.
  • Officers were notified of a hit and run at noon at 117 Church St. Isabelle C. Kreif, River Falls, reported that someone with a white vehicle had backed into her legally parked 2009 Honda Civic, causing minor damage the left rear quarter panel. White paint transfer was visible. Police questioned the driver of a white GMC parked at a home directly behind Kreif’s parking spot, but he denied hitting Kreif’s vehicle. When examining area traffic cameras, police could see the damage on Kreif’s vehicle at least two weeks prior.
  • At 5:22 p.m., police were dispatched to an unwanted person call at 511 S. Wasson Lane. A woman said her ex-boyfriend had shown up in the midst of a three-day bender and was being destructive. He arrived at the apartment and began banging on the door. He also yelled at their adult daughter and pushed a cart toward her car. She let him in because he was making a scene, but he refused to leave. He threw things around her bedroom and created a mess. He also accused her and their daughter of sleeping with a man and called the vulgar names. Police arrested Jason Troy Hill, 50, Stillwater, Minn., for domestic disorderly conduct, possession of cocaine/coca, possession of narcotic drugs and possess drug paraphernalia. They located a baggie of cocaine on him that tested positive for fentanyl. He claimed he took it from his ex’s bathroom, which she denied. After receiving medical clearance, he was transported to Pierce County Jail.
  • At 6:30 p.m., a complainant reported almost being struck by a silver Jeep at Wasson Lane and Golfview Drive. She saw the driver park on the side of the street and begin walking down the middle of Morgan Road. She saw him go back to his Jeep before leaving the area. Campus police saw him jump a curb on Wasson Court when he took a corner too tightly. They pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver as Victor A. Gualan Contento, 41, River Falls. He smelled of alcohol and denied driving, though he exited the vehicle from the driver’s seat. After performing field sobriety tests and registering a 0.179 BAC, he was arrested and cited $250 for operating while revoked (alcohol related), $150 for ignition interlock device tampering/failure to install/violate court order and $850 for OWI-third. After a blood draw at the hospital, he was transported to Pierce County Jail without incident.
  • Police were dispatched to a domestic at 8 p.m. at 555 Marcella Court. A woman reported being hit by her husband. She told police that her husband, Mark Herbert Stevens, 70, River Falls, gets violent when he drinks. He jumped up from dinner and went toward his stepson’s room, threatening to hit him. He said he’s sick of him living there and wants him gone. The woman and her son said Stevens has threatened to kill them and keeps guns in the house. When she tried to prevent him from going to her son’s room, he hit her on the head twice and once in the face. Police took photos of her injures. Stevens was arrested for battery of an elder person and two domestic disorderly conduct charges. Police transported him to St. Croix County Jail.

Monday, Feb. 9

  • Officers were summoned to a domestic not in progress at 1:47 a.m. at 308 River St. Police found Nicole Matie Plunkett, 33, River Falls, in the parking lot. She stated she and her girlfriend had been drinking all day and had gotten into a fight about money. She claimed her girlfriend “went crazy” and that she was just trying to leave for the night to go to her parents to de-escalate the situation. When police were talking to her, she became belligerent and began taking off her coat and throwing her belongings. She registered a BAC of 0.317. Her girlfriend said she’d been punched in the face once or twice but couldn’t remember how the fight started due to her intoxication level. Plunkett was arrested for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and possess drug paraphernalia and taken to Pierce County Jail.
  • At 6:06 a.m., a 2023 Jeep Compass, driven by Samantha Ann Hewitt, 37, Ellsworth, struck a deer while traveling north on Highway 35 just north of Division Street. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Hewitt reported no injuries.
  • Police were dispatched at 6:22 p.m. to Chapman Drive and Sevenoaks Street for a welfare check on a woman seen running away from an older man. When police arrived, they saw a 67-year-old man in a vehicle rolling alongside a woman, later identified as Victoria Stephanie Kivel, 28, Lakeland, Minn. A neighbor had called police when she saw Kivel running through a yard and the man chasing her while shouting, “Girl, where you gone?” Kivel tried walking away from police and said she was “good.” The man told police he’d met Kivel at the Beach Bar in Lakeland. She was flirtatious and he brought her home with him. They hung out at his house for about one hour before he offered to bring her back to Lakeland. He said on the ride back, she asked to urinate on the side of the road. She overpowered him, took his keys and ran down the hill between houses into the neighborhood. He chased her at first but then returned to his vehicle. Kivel apparently came back, tackled him to the ground and they wrestled over the keys. Once he got the keys away from her, she sat on the ground and called her boyfriend to come pick her up. He tried to give the boyfriend directions, but Kivel kept screaming that he was lying. Officers photographed his injuries, including cuts and bruises. When they tried to question Kivel and see if she needed help, she resisted officers and demanded to go home. She kicked officers multiple times, causing injuries. She refused to be seen by EMS or get into a squad and had to be restrained to an ambulance cot. She swore at officers repeatedly, threatened to sue them, kicked them and told them they’d get raped in prison. When he ex-boyfriend arrived, he told officers she is schizophrenic and must have stopped taking her medication. Kivel was arrested for resisting an officer – cause injury (substantial bodily harm or soft tissue), resisting or obstructing an officer, battery to an elder person – intentionally cause harm, misdemeanor bail jumping and disorderly conduct. After a hospital evaluation, she was transported to St. Croix County Jail.
  • At 6:50 p.m., police were notified of a protection order violation. The woman reported that her ex keeps having friends reach out to her via text and social media. They discussed options for safeguarding herself online.

 

Tuesday, Feb. 10

  • A 15-year-old River Falls High School student was cited $98.80 for possession of THC after a THC vape was found in his locker at 12:04 p.m. School staff witnessed the boy and another on video spend about 20 minutes in a bathroom and became suspicious. They searched both boys and their lockers and found the vape.
  • At 5:18 p.m., police responded to 1450 S. Wasson Lane #84 for a vandalism complaint. A woman found a puncture hole in her 2020 Kia Sol’s tire sidewall. It had been parked in the driveway for about a week. There are no suspects.
  • Police were informed of the latest development in an ongoing civil matter at 6:29 p.m. at 1139 W. Maple St. A woman informed police that her sister, who is prohibited by court order from going to the property, had taken their late mother’s 2014 Dodge Caravan. It was seen on area traffic cameras at 5:09 p.m. near Carmichael Road in Hudson. The van was returned later that night or early the next morning. Police documented the incident.

 

Wednesday, Feb. 11

  • Police arrested Seth Michael Westover, 37, River Falls, for a probation violation related to a September 2025 offense at 3:07 p.m. at the police station. They transported him to St. Croix County Jail without incident.
  • Officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 6:34 p.m. at Walnut and Second streets between a 2005 Chevy Classic, driven by Grace Eileen Bjorklund, 20, Hastings, Minn., and a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder, driven by Brianna Jordyn Stone, 21, Blaine, Minn. Bjorklund was heading north on Second Street and Stone was stopped at the Walnut Street intersection facing west, preparing to turn northbound. As she turned into the intersection, she rear-ended Bjorklund, who had the right of way. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.
  • At 2:04 p.m., a 75-year-old woman reported being threatened earlier in the day at the Kwik Trip (1238 N. Main St.) car wash. While in line, a dark-colored SUV cut in front of her. The driver’s window was down, so she called out to him that he had cut in front of her. When he gave her the middle finger, she moved her vehicle forward to block him in. The man then told her he had a gun and would shoot her and her tires out. She became afraid and backed up; neither one exited their vehicles and both proceeded through the car wash. Police were unable to identify the suspect vehicle.

Thursday, Feb. 12

A 16-year-old River Falls High School student was cited $73.60 for minor purchases or possesses tobacco/nicotine after being found with a vape at 1:24 p.m. She had the vape hidden in her bra. She was also suspended.
