River Falls Police Department reports: Jan. 11-17, 2025

The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department Jan. 11-17.

Saturday, Jan. 11

  • At 3 p.m. a woman reported being assaulted by her boyfriend at 3024 Radio Road at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 7 and 8:30 p.m. Jan. 9. During two arguments that occurred, Noah T. Enevold, 28, St. Paul, became physically violent, she said. Over the course of the arguments, he grabbed her by the neck, pushed her to the ground, threw a full beer can at her and bruised her. She was fearful he would retaliate further and was in the process of trying to move her things out. Police took photos of her injuries. She said he had been drinking on both occasions and detailed a history of nonreported abuse. Officers arrested Enevold at 7:17 p.m. Jan. 12 at the apartment for domestic battery, domestic disorderly conduct and strangulation and suffocation.
  • Police responded at 8:22 p.m. to the area of Greenwood Elementary School (982 E. Division St.) for a vehicle broken down in the middle of the road. The front driver’s side wheel was perpendicular to the vehicle and appeared damaged. The vehicle was towed and its driver, Jorge Omar Jaimes Almazan, 38, River Falls, was arrested and cited $200 for operate without valid license (second within three years) and three misdemeanor bail jumping charges. After booking, he was released.

 

Sunday, Jan. 12

Police responded at 7:40 a.m. to a one-vehicle crash on Highway 35 just north of Quarry Road. A 2011 Chevy Cruze, driven by Trinity Jo Wilkens, 20, Ellsworth, was traveling north near the Quarry Road overpass, lost control on the snowy roads, spun and hit the metal center median barrier. The vehicle swung around again and struck the barrier. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. No injuries were reported.

Monday, Jan. 13

  • Curtwyn Johnson, 58, River Falls, was arrested and cited $850 for OWI-second and $187 for possess open intoxicants in motor vehicle – driver after a traffic stop for operating without taillights at 2:05 a.m. at Cascade Avenue and Spruce Street. Johnson appeared agitated when he pulled over and got out of the vehicle. He said he’d been drinking at Emma’s and was meeting a friend behind the Radisson. Inside his jacket, police found an open bottle of Modelo beer. After performing field sobriety tests and registering a .181 BAC, he was arrested and taken to the hospital for a blood draw, then Pierce County Jail.
  • At 12:53 p.m., a resident at 545 Birchcrest Drive reported identity theft which they learned of when applying for housing. Someone had opened a WE Energies account in their name at a Milwaukee address and had a $1,200 outstanding bill. They were advised to alert their bank and the Social Security Administration.
  • At 3 p.m., a resident informed police someone had used a fake ID to withdraw $200 from their bank account at Royal Credit Union in White Bear Lake, Minn. They were advised to contact the Social Security Admininistration and had already taken steps to safeguard their bank account.
  • Sebastian Michael Anderson, 29, River Falls, was cited $187 for possess drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop for operating without taillights at 10:24 p.m. at Main Street and Quarry Road. During the traffic stop, officers smelled marijuana and saw a grinder in the cup holder. During a search, they also found a glass pipe that tested positive for THC.
  • Maxwell Allan Gardner, 30, St. Paul, was arrested for possess with intent to distribute – THC, possess drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping after a traffic stop for speeding at 11:11 p.m. at Main and Union streets. He was also cited $98.80 for speeding on city highway. During the stop, police smelled marijuana in the car. Dispatch informed officers that Gardner had been arrested for an attempted double homicide in St. Paul, so to use caution. He was handcuffed and secured in a squad during a vehicle search in which officers located a digital scale, $160 and 81 grams of marijuana. He was transported to St. Croix County Jail without incident.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

  • Javier Tecpile Acahua, 27, River Falls, was cited $300 for operate without valid license (third within three years) after a traffic stop for an inoperable brake light at 2:56 a.m. at Main Street and Cemetery Road. He was told to have a valid driver pick him up from the scene.
  • Police were notified of a hit and run at 3:29 p.m. at Leroy Lane and Leroy Court. An unknown vehicle slid off the road, struck the street sign pole and left the scene without notifying police.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 15

  • Police were notified of a payroll check theft at 11:13 a.m. at Comforts of Home (2328 Aurora Circle). An employee reported not receiving their $392.77 check; it was discovered another employee had fraudulently signed it over to themselves and cashed it. They were terminated. Police attempted to contact the suspect at their Ellsworth address without success.
  • Officers were dispatched to a vehicle vs. tree crash at 2:18 p.m. at 315 Devin Lane. A 2016 Subaru Forester, driven by Edward Arthur Hygnstrom, 90, Maiden Rock, was driving on Jefferson Street just north of Devin Lane on his way to see the dam. He drove off the road going west and went into the backyard of 315 Devin Lane, where he struck a tree. He continued through the yard, went up a small hill and struck more trees and brush behind 338 Jefferson Street. He had never been in the area before and thought he passed out, because he didn’t remember going off the road. Allina EMS transported him to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with possible injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
  • Police arrested Jordan Duaine Clausen, 30, for a Department of Corrections warrant at 2:40 p.m. at 333 Troy St. he was transported to St. Croix County Jail without issues.

 

Thursday, Jan. 16

  • At 1:59 a.m., police were dispatched to a domestic at 117 Church St. The complainant heard a man and woman yelling, choking and stuff crashing in an apartment. When police arrived, a woman was walking toward police waving her arms. She said her ex-boyfriend was destroying the apartment after accusing her of cheating on him. There were dozens of items thrown all over the apartment, shattered glass, blood on the bed and a broken meth pipe in the kitchen. Chad Eric Smith, 52, New Richmond, was arrested for felony bail jumping, domestic disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and possess drug paraphernalia and transported to Pierce County Jail. When he asked for police to grab his backpack, inside they found a scale with meth residue on it. He said the last time he’d used meth was in 2013.
  • At 8:09 a.m., a man at 1441 Riverside Drive reported his 17-year-old sister had taken his prescription methadone, which was hidden in a locked box. He found the methadone in her bedroom. The juvenile, who had been entered as a runaway in the system, was suspected to be staying at a South St. Paul, Minn. residence while being high on fentanyl. She returned to River Falls Jan. 17 and police arrested her for theft and possession of narcotic drugs. She was transported to St. Croix County Jail.
  • Officers responded to a crash at 11:36 a.m. at 100 Kennedy St. A 2015 Chevy Cruze, driven by Kaitlin Marie Messman, 29, River Falls, was traveling southbound on Sycamore Street, crossed into the northbound lane and struck the side mirror of a legally parked 2016 Subaru Impreza, owned by Clayton J. Carlson, Prescott, which was parked in front of 1332 Sycamore St. The Cruze continued veering eastbound, struck multiple garbage/recycling bins, continued over the curb and glanced off a wooden light pole. The vehicle then continued southbound across Kennedy Street, over the curb and into the front of the residence at 100 Kennedy St. Messman was disoriented and didn’t know what had happened. Police believe she had a medical emergency. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Carlson’s vehicle had minor damage. EMS transported Messman to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with suspected minor injuries.

 

Friday, Jan. 17

  • Police responded at 7 a.m. to 745 Sycamore St. for an 86-year-old female who wasn’t breathing and didn’t have a pulse. She had been located deceased sitting up in a chair by a nurse during morning rounds. The cause of death appeared to be natural causes.
  • A hit and run was reported at 3:16 p.m. at Walnut and Main streets. An unknown vehicle, backing out of or pulling into a parking space, struck a legally parked 2018 Chevy Silverado, owned by Connie Marie Nelson, Pine River, Minn. The vehicle had minor damage.
  • Officers were dispatched at 10:24 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash in the parking lot of 1505 Paulson Road between a 2016 Chevy Cruze, driven by Juan Alfonso Macas, 51, River Falls, and a legally parked 2012 Mitsubishi Gallant, occupied by Kira Marie Anderson, 20, Amery. Anderson was parked in a parking stall. Macas took a corner too sharply, slid on ice and crashed into Anderson’s vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.
  • Police responded at 11:16 p.m. to a domestic at 211 W. Johnson St. Dispatch could hear a woman yelling at a man to get out of her house. When the line was disconnected, police called back and the woman said it was accidental dial. When police arrived, they heard a couple arguing from where they were standing outside the apartment door.
