The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department Jan. 5-9, 2026.

Monday, Jan. 5

At 11:38 p.m., police responded to a driving complaint of a vehicle all over the road near Highway 65 and Cemetery Road. They located the vehicle at Kwik Trip (1238 N. Main St.) and identified the driver as Aiden W. Tjader, 22, River Falls. Tjader appeared to be under the influence of a substance due to odd speech patterns and constricted pupils; his occupational license stated he could drive for work purposes only between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. His vehicle was searched under Act 79 and police located beer and containers with a white, powdery substance. At least one container tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl, though Tjader claimed it was a sleep aid called Kratom that he used to get high. After completing field sobriety tests, police arrested Tjader for a probation hold, operating while revoked, possess amphetamine/LSD/psilocin, ignition interlock device tampering/failure to install/violate court order, OWI-second and possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to St. Croix County Jail after a blood test at the hospital without incident.

Tuesday, Jan. 6

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:10 p.m. in the 200 block of South Main Street. A 2024 Ford F150, driven by Teresa Marie Kruizenga, 61, Hudson, sideswiped a legally parked 2023 Honda Accord, owned by Susan Elizabeth Kelm, Hudson, during a parking maneuver. Both vehicles had minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Wednesday, Jan. 7

  • Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 6:54 a.m. at Winter and Division streets between a 2015 Dodge Journey, driven by a 17-year-old River Falls juvenile and a 2025 Volkswagen Atlas, driven by Julie Ann Weber, 56, River Falls. The juvenile was heading south on Winter Street and stopped at the stop sign. He said he looked both ways but failed to see Weber, who was heading eastbound on Division Street. Both vehicles had minor damage. Neither driver nor Weber’s 12-year-old passenger reported injuries.
  • Jackson John Magee, 18, River Falls, was cited $691 for failure to stop for school bus after failing to do so at 8:09 a.m. at Cemetery Road and Emory Drive.
  • Officers responded at 11:24 a.m. to 1294 Emily Circle for suspicious activity. The resident believed someone had tried to enter her sliding glass door at 3:50 a.m. causing her dog to bark. Heavy boot prints led up to the door and around the house to each door and window. They belonged to no one in the family. There are no suspects.
  • A 17-year-old River Falls juvenile was cited $124 for habitual truancy at 1:04 p.m. at Renaissance Charter Academy (1355 Sunshine Ave.)
  • Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:11 p.m. in the parking lot of 705 St. Croix St. A 2018 Ford Escape, driven by Ryan Joseph Wakefield, 45, River Falls, was backing out of a parking spot into a legally parked 2018 Buick Enclave, driven by Javier Rafael Alvarado, 55, River Falls. Both vehicles had minor damage. Neither driver nor Wakefield’s passenger Warren Scott Harer Jr., 46, River Falls, nor Alvarado’s passenger Ruth Soto Perez, 53, River Falls, reported injuries.
  • Police were notified of a one-vehicle crash at 1:58 p.m. at 1121 S. Main St. A 2017 Dodge Caravan, driven by Joshua Lee Strohbusch, 46, River Falls, was not put into park and rolled forward, colliding with a large propane cage against the building. Strohbusch failed to notify anyone of the crash and left the scene. His vehicle had minor damage; the propane cage is no longer operable and will need repairs.
  • Officers responded at 6:05 p.m. to a group home at 1218 State St. for a 19-year-old resident showing aggressive behavior, including flipping furniture, breaking chairs, and hitting another resident. The man was angry after being denied a library outing due to escalating behavior throughout the day. Staff transported him to Regions Hospital for an evaluation after contacting his guardian.

Thursday, Jan. 8

  • A 17-year-old River Falls juvenile was cited $124 for habitual truancy at 8:15 a.m. at Renaissance Charter Academy (1355 Sunshine Ave.)
  • A 16-year-old River Falls juvenile was cited $98.80 for habitual truancy at 11:51 a.m. at Renaissance Charter Academy.
  • A 15-year-old River Falls juvenile was cited $98.80 for minor possesses or purchases tobacco/nicotine after a vape was found in his underwear during a search at 11 a.m. at River Falls High School (818 Cemetery Road).

Friday, Jan. 9

  • Esteban Eduardo Arellano, 20, River Falls, was arrested and cited $200 for operate without valid license (second within three years) after a traffic stop for driving without a license plate at 2:57 p.m. at Wildcat Court and Wasson Lane. After his booking he was given a courtesy ride home.
  • Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 6:31 p.m. at Cascade Avenue and Spruce Street between a 2008 Chevy C4500, driven by Scott Hugh Evans, 45, River Falls, and a 2023 Subaru Ascent, driven by Steven Shannon Kubera, 53, River Falls. As both vehicles headed east on Cascade, Kubera stopped for a pedestrian and Evans rear-ended him, causing minor damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported. Evans was cited $124 for automobile following too closely.
  • Officers were notified of a hit and run at 8:32 p.m. at Quarry Road and Main Street. Bjorn N. Bentley, 18, River Falls, reported he had been sideswiped by a 2012 Kia Optima while he was turning south onto Main Street. The Kia fled the scene; Bentley followed it to Clark and Division streets then gave up the pursuit. He provided police with a license plate number, registered to Victor Rodrigo Gonzalez Medina, 24, Baldwin. The vehicle has not yet been located.
  • Alexander Lamoyne Stockland, 27, Hastings, Minn., was arrested and cited $150 for ignition interlock device tampering/failure to install/violate court order, $250 for operating after revocation (alcohol related), felony bail jumping, possess drug paraphernalia and two felony warrants after a traffic stop for driving without taillights at 9:35 p.m. at Main and Division streets. Police saw a burnt joint in the center console and located two containers in the vehicle that tested positive for meth. He was transported to Pierce County Jail without incident.
