River Falls Police Department reports: March 25-28, 2025

The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department March 25-28.
Tuesday, March 25
Police were dispatched at 7:35 a.m. to the area behind Meyer Middle School (230 N. Ninth St.) where a white SUV had struck the tornado siren multiple times and some trash cans before leaving the scene. A witness was able to jot down a partial license plate number. After interviewing neighbors, police were able to track the Toyota Highlander to Heidy Paola Santos Montes 35, River Falls, at 205 W. Cedar St. The vehicle had fresh front-end damage. Santos Montes told police she didn’t know what she hit and she’d fallen asleep due to working two jobs. She was arrested and cited $187 for hit and run – property adjacent to highway, $124 for operate motor vehicle without insurance and $200 for operate without valid license (third within three years). She said she left the crash scene because she didn’t have her phone with her.
Wednesday, March 26
After a locker search at 11:45 a.m. at River Falls High School (818 Cemetery Road), a 16-year-old juvenile was cited $73.60 for minor possessing tobacco. He had tobacco pouches in his locker. His parents were informed.
Police responded at 4:39 p.m. to Positive Alternatives (2860 William Ave.) for a 13-year-old juvenile damaging property and causing damage. After being denied privileges, the juvenile ripped the phone off the wall, began punching things, blocked the staff office door, rammed and kicked the door and laid on the floor. Police referred disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property charges to St. Croix County Juvenile Services.
Police were called back to Positive Alternatives at 6:17 p.m. for the same out-of-control juvenile, who was hitting and kicking things. When they arrived, officers found a tipped over mop bucket the juvenile kicked when he found out he couldn’t go to the YMCA due to earlier behavior. He also threw kitchen chairs, punched and kicked windows, knocked over a shoe rack and attempted to break down the office door. Officers spoke to the juvenile, calmed him down and told staff he was upset because the other kids get to go places and he doesn’t due to his behavior. A disorderly conduct charge was referred to St. Croix County.
At 11:40 p.m., police saw a brown Pontiac with Montana license plates parked behind a semi at Kwik Trip (1238 N. Main St.) The registered owner, Michael Montana Maimer, 45, Spooner, had warrants out of Washburn County, Minnesota and Montana. They found him asleep in the back seat next to a Rice Lake woman. He was arrested and the woman was allowed to call her sister to come move the vehicle.
Thursday, March 27
At 10:29 a.m., the principal at the Renaissance Academy reported three students for being truant: Two 14-year-olds and one 15-year-old. Their parents were all notified and they were all cited.
At 10:58 a.m., a Security Bank (1561 Commerce Court) employee reported receiving a fraudulent check that they cashed from Lindus Construction for $2,654.48. The name on the check was Jeremy Johnson of Fridley, Minn. Police learned that Johnson was suspected of depositing and/or cashing fraudulent checks all throughout the county. The case remains under investigation.
At noon, an 1121 W. Maple St. resident reported a loan had been taken out fraudulently in her name. The loan was for $700 through Plain Green LLC. The woman wanted the incident documented for the company.
Police responded to a dog bite at 6:54 p.m. at 522 E. Maple St. The victim was in her backyard when she heard dogs yelping at a neighboring property. She saw a black dog attacking a Golden Retriever, with about seven or eight dogs involved in the commotion at 512 E. Maple St. She attempted to intervene by stepping on two leashes, but was charged by a German Shepherd and Mastiff. The Mastiff bit her hand and left leg, while he German Shepherd mouthed her hand. The Mastiff was issued a quarantine order.
Officers were dispatched to a harassment complaint at 10:22 p.m. at 122 N. Third St. A resident reported a woman he used to date continuously driving by the home in the street and alley and yelling things at him. The Department of Corrections issued a warrant for the arrest of Solvaline Renee Brown, 50, Ellsworth. She was located a North Hudson address, where she was arrested for a probation hold and taken to St. Croix County Jail.
Friday, March 28
At 1:29 a.m., an officer found graffiti on the underside of the Division Street bridge, mostly pink and white paint and a black marker. Besides words, the graffiti depicted bats, phallic shapes, skulls, mushrooms, spiderwebs, faces, stars and hearts. A 12-year-old suspect was tracked down and given a verbal warning.
At 8 a.m., a 12-year-old River Falls juvenile was cited $98.80 for habitual truancy at Meyer Middle School (230 N. Ninth St.)
